I have always loved a nude lip, but for the past year or so bright and bold has been my way to go. But, after trying out some new matte nudes, I remembered how much I loved the nude lip. So, today I have a round-up and swatches of my favourite nude matte liquid lipsticks for you.

LA Girl Matte Flat Finish Pigment Gloss in Dreamy– Dreamy is the best from this LA Girl range, it does need a bit of extra blending to apply smoothly, but it is a really nice shade and lasts around 3/4 hours. (Dischem)

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Istanbul- I like the shade, but I find it a bit drying and it doesn’t last very long. I am still after the shade Cannes though. (Clicks)

Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Matte Liquid Lipstick in Serenity– Such a pretty shade, and this product is so comfortable and hydrating. It lasts quite long, around 7 hours, with slight fading after eating. (Online)

Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Matte Liquid Lipstick in Everything Nice– Hydrating, comfortable and long lasting! I really can’t fault these products, I have three other brighter shades that I am eager to try out. (Online)

ColourPop Ultra Matte in Clueless– Love this, the shade is similiar to Dreamy, but slightly pinker. For an Ultra Matte this is really comfortable and doesn’t dry out the lips, and it is long lasting too, around 8 hours. (Online)

ColourPop Ultra Matte in Lumiere 2– This shade is so unique, I love it! It is not drying at all, and so long lasting, even after eating. At first I wasn’t sure about the shade, but I now I am hooked! (Online)

NYX Liquid Suede in Soft Spoken- This is comfortable, long lasting and pigmented. Not as long lasting as ColourPop or Gerard Cosmetics but it lasts around 5/6 hours. (Clicks)

Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid in Nude Flush– I love this shade, but unfortunately this doesn’t last very long, around 1/2 hours. It doesn’t dry down much, so it transfers easily. It isn’t fully matte, so I would describe it as more of a matte cream. (Dischem & Clicks)

Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor in Devotion– I love love these Revlon products, there is a proper ‘nude’ shade called Seduction which looks really nice too. Comfortable, pigmented and last for about 3/4 hours. (Clicks & Dischem)

If you are looking for a Matte Liquid Lipstick in nude or bright, I would recommend trying Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Mattes, ColourPop Ultra Mattes, NYX Liquid Suedes or Revlon Ultra HD Mattes.

Below is a closer look at the swatches, as you can see some are creamier than others, and some are less ‘nude’ than others too. But, ‘nude’ is different for everyone, there is no universal nude, it depends on your skin tone, as it should. A ‘nude’ lipstick should be a ‘your lips but better’ shade. I bought a nude lipstick once, thought I would love it, and ended up looking like the Ghost of Christmas Past, it was way too pale for me and just made me look washed out.

Below you can see the different applicators, I can’t say any of them are particularly hard or messy to use. But some still require some finger blending because of the formula. The main cuplrits are Dreamy and Istanbul.

If mattes aren’t your type, there are a couple of stunning nudeish shades of liquid lipsticks from Catrice and Essence. The Makeup Revolution Lip Lava is also pretty nice, and they do offer international delivery.
