My next Christmas Gift Guide is for all of the skincare lovers out there. Skincare is such a personal choice and is dependent on skin types and concerns. But there are some products that any skincare lover would be happy to receive, and I will be sharing them today.
It has been a tough year, and the dark circles and bags under my eyes show it. Although in my case genetics play a big role in these eye concerns, stress and lack of sleep definitely make it worse. I am not a huge fan of eye products (I usually just take my face serum/cream up a bit higher), but that changed when I tried these Eye Ampoules from *SVR. There is a day option called Refresh (R500) that plumps, perks and hydrates the eye area. And for night we have Relax (R525) that smoothes and relaxes the eye area. The best part about these products is the applicator, it is a pipette that you use to apply the product and massage the eye area. It is cooling, relaxing and such a treat and the massage helps to encourage micro-circulation to reduce under-eye bags and dark circles! I have been thoroughly enjoying having these products in my routine.
Serums are a must for every skincare lover and today I am sharing two that would work on all skin types.
First up I have the Endocare Radiance C Ferulic Edafence Serum (R1140) by Cantabria Labs (who also make Heliocare, so you know this is good). This is an antioxidant serum, so it will protect the skin against environmental aggressors and free radicals. It also helps to regenerate the skin cells. Best used during the day, antioxidants also help to boost your sun protection. This serum contains a Vitamin C complex (L-Ascorbic Acid and Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate), Vitamin E, Ferulic Acid and SCA® Growth Factor complex that helps cells generate collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid for plump, healthy looking skin. The serum is lightweight but not gritty or oily like some vitamin c serums, and has a lovely hydrating feel.
Then I have the *Ageless Active Gel (R1750) from Optiphi, a calming gel to soothe irritated and sensitive skin while protecting it from environmental aggressors and the damage caused by inflammation. This product can be used after treatments and even after shaving to soothe the skin. It is light and non-greasy and can be used morning and night on clean skin.
For moisturiser I have the *Placecol Barrier Protect Night (R440). This vegan, cruelty-free moisturiser helps to restore and repair the skins barrier. It hydrates the skin and leaves it feeling cushioned and nourished without feeling greasy. When I have exfoliated my skin intensely or perhaps over-done with with retinols and acids, this is what I have been reaching for.
Sun protection is one of the most important steps in a skincare routine, and Heliocare make some of the best products out there! I have been using the Heliocare 360° Pigment Solution Fluid SPF 50+ (R550) for a while now and I love it! Aside from protecting the skin from the sun and preventing hyperpigmentation, it also helps to correct existing pigmentation concerns. It feels light and non-greasy, but doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry. It has a very slight nude tint to it, but doesn’t make me look ashy and leaves my skin looking healthy.
Masking and exfoliating is such a fun, but necessary treat!
First up I have the *Skinderm Pure Exfoliating Glo Pads (R395). The pads have a bit of a roughness to them which adds a physical exfoliation to the chemical exfoliation. It contains Alpha and Beta hydroxy acids to get rid of dull, dry skin and unclog and refine the skin. It also contains Mulberry extract to brighten the skin. It doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry or irritated, but does leave me with a brighter more glowy skin.
Sheet masks make great stocking fillers, and there are so many to choose from! Here I have the Charcoal Pore Care from Lapcos, a detoxing charcoal sheet mask with Charcoal Powder, Glycolic Acid + Panthenol. It leaves your skin detoxed, exfoliated and clear. I also have the Dr Jart Bright Lover Rubber Mask which is infused with vitamin C and grapefruit to exfoliate and brighten the skin. This is a two step mask, first you apply the serum, and then you pop the rubber mask on to seal it all in.
I hope you enjoyed my Skincare Christmas Gift Guide. You can check out my Fragrance Christmas Gift Guide here as well as my last year’s skincare version here.
