Revlon PhotoReady Candid Makeup Collection

I’ve been trying out the Revlon PhotoReady Candid Makeup Collection for a while now, and I am impressed. This range is all about natural but flawless looking skin. The products contain anti-pollution and antioxidant properties to protect the skin, and are formulated without oils, parabens, phthalates, and harsh fragrances so will suit both sensitive and oily skin types. There is a NEW launch to look out for too, the Moisture Glow Foundation which is a creamy, dewy version that I cannot wait to try.

I bought the foundation, concealer and setting powder from Dischem when it just launched, and I was recently sent a few other foundation shades.

Revlon Candid Makeup Collection Review

The foundation finish is lightweight and natural but it still provides medium buildable coverage. The foundation also contains anti-pollution and anti-oxidant properties to protect the skin. Skin still looks like skin, but perfected. I bought the shade 400, which is my best match for Summer, although the *shade 300 will probably be my Winter shade. I found the *shade 360, was quite cool toned and actually showed up lighter on my skin tone, which was a bit confusing. There are a good number of shades for all tones in this range, but Revlon is usually good about catering to all skin tones.

The concealer does a great job under the eyes, it doesn’t crease and blends well. It also contains anti-pollution and anti-oxidant properties as well as caffeine to perk up the under-eye area. It has a doe-foot applicator which I don’t mind too much when it comes to concealer as it makes applying under the eyes easier. I have shade 040 which has a slight peach tone to it, which makes it great to disguise dark circles.

Lastly the setting powder is so fine and silky and doesn’t look ashy on the skin. It sets and protects the skin with anti-pollution and anti-oxidant properties. Although this powder is translucent, I love that there are three different shades so that it truly is translucent for all skin types. I bought the middle shade, 002 and it works perfectly on me, you can see in the swatches below how it completely disappears into the skin.

I haven’t heard of this range before but it sounds great. I love using products that are buildable because some days my skin just needs that little bit more coverage. The concealer sounds amazing and is definitely something I need to try.

Everytime I go into Boots, I do have a quick look at this foundation. We can’t use testers anymore but when we can, I might try it and see what it is like.

I really enjoy this foundation but did find that the shades were weird. I wear 240 because the shade and undertone is much better suited to me than any of the lighter tones… and I’ve never worn a shade 200, let alone 240 in my life. I’m an NW15-20 (MAC) usually, which is pretty darn fair. I’m actually relieved I bought this before lockdown because now that there’s no testers, I would have got it completely wrong.

This sounds like such a good collection. I don’t hear many people talking about, but I’m so tempted to give it a try. Great review xx
