Christmas Gift Guide 2021- Fragrance

I know it has been quite a while since I have posted here, just over 2 months actually. I don’t even know why to be honest, lack of time, lack of motivation, lack of focus, a few reasons I suppose. Well I am back, with a few Christmas Gift Guide posts, because obviously this year has flown by so fast, both 2020 and 2021 seem like a blur and now it is Christmas again!

Today I am sharing my Fragrance Gift Guide, there are picks for all budgets and notes to suit all tastes. Perfume is such a great gift idea, especially if you know the olfactory group preference of the person you are buying for. There are a few olfactory groups, citrus, floral, woody, oriental, and with a bit of snooping through their existing perfume stash you can figure out which one they prefer.

Christmas Gift Guide Fragrance

First up I have this mini set from Jo Malone. Discovery sets such as these are great introductions to the brand, and because Jo Malone is all about pairing fragrances, a set like this is great to start playing around with. This specific set is no longer available, however there are other mini sets that you can still pick up.

Jo Malone Christmas Gift

A proudly South African option is the Boity *Pink Sapphire fragrance by Halo Heritage. (R895 for 50ml) It is the first South African premium fine fragrance and is the embodiment of Boity’s personality: elegant yet approachable, stylish and sophisticated. The scent is fruity floral with top and middle notes of Sugar, Jasmine and Tangerine. The base notes of Salt and Cedarwood ground the fragrance. The scent is light and playful, but has a certain strength to it. I would recommend this perfume for under 30’s.

There is also a Pink Sapphire Luxurious Hair Perfume (R495 for 100ml). This non-greasy hair mist is infused with argan oil to nourish your hair, while the Pink Sapphire scent lingers. It is light, and left my hair feeling soft and hydrated, it also protects against the damage caused by heat styling! It can be used on wet or dry hair and is a great option to refresh hair between washes.

Boity Perfume Review

There is a funny story behind the Michael by Michael Kors (R1650 for 50ml) fragrance. I was at work in a meeting, sitting next to one of my colleagues and she smelt as if she had rolled around in a field of tuberose. I adore the scent of a fresh bouquet of tuberose, so I obviously asked her what she was wearing, and it was this perfume. Do I even need to say more? The fragrance is floral, with notes of Freesia, Tuberose and Cashmere Wood. If you love a white floral scent, go and try this out!

Oooohh, the Nuxe Prodigieux Floral Le Parfum (R910 for 50ml). I adore Nuxe scents, and when the Florale Oil launched I was hoping for a perfume version, and here we are! If you are faimiliar with the original Nuxe Perfume, this one is fresher, more floral and a bit younger and more playful. With notes of Grapefruit, Magnolia, Orange Blossom and Musk this scent is summer happiness in a bottle.

A beautiful budget option is the *Revlon Love That Velvet Gift Set (R230 for a gift set). The set includes an Eau De Toilette 30ml, Perfumed Body Spray 90ml And Perfumed Body Lotion 150ml. The scent is a sophisticated floral, fruity scent. The Revlon Love That range embodies all that a woman is, fierce, bold, soft and beautiful. During high school the Revlon Perfumed Body Sprays were my favourite, Fire & Ice Cool was my go-to!

A relatively new brand to me is 4711 Acqua Colonia, this is only the second fragrance I am trying, and I am obsessed. If you love a unique fragrance, without an enormous price tag, you have to check this brand out. Acqua Colonia Intense Wakening Woods Of Scandinavia (R640 for 50ml) is clean, fresh, woody and aromatic. It is a unisex scent with hints of white flowers, spices and woods. With top notes of Bergamot and Pink Pepper, middle notes of Rose and Jasmine and base notes of Fir and Olibanum (Frankincense) this scent will intrigue you.

Last, but definitely not least is a fragrance from the Elizabeth Arden White Tea Collection. I love the collection, especially the Wild Rose and Vanilla Orchid scents. I even had my eye on Mandarin Blossom (R846 for 100ml) before it launched last year. Described as a vibrant floral, it is exactly that! It is happy, it is radiant, it is festive and it is perfect for Summer! With top notes of Mandarin Orange and Bergamot, middle notes of Orange Blossom and Jasmine and base notes of Cedar and Musk it is the most beautiful scent of the collection so far! I have yet to try the new Ginger Lily one.

Lack of time and lack of focus ring a few bells for me too! I 100% agree; there is no way 2020 and 2021 have been ordinary years in length of time. It has been bizarrely quick!

Oooo that Boity hair mist sounds amazing!!

I have always wanted to try Jo Malone! And Diptique!
