Christmas Gift Guide 2020- Fragrance

Another day, another Christmas Gift Guide, and this one is for all of the fragrance lovers out there! Perfume is such a great gift idea, especially if you know the olfactory group preference of the person you are buying for. There are a few olfactory groups, such as citrus, floral, woody, oriental, and with a bit of snooping through their existing perfume stash you can figure out which one they prefer.  I have picks for all budgets in this Fragrance Gift Guide, so you are sure to find something!

If you aren’t able to figure out which olfactory group they like, or if they, like me, like a few different ones depending on their mood, then a discovery kit like this one from Maison Margiela’s REPLICA Collection is an ideal choice. This discovery kit contains 10 mini-size fragrances created to evoke the scents hidden deep in our memories. A few of my favourites are Beach Walk that evokes the memory of a stroll along the ocean, By the Fireplace that evokes the comforting sensation of a crackling fireplace and Flower Market that evokes the memory of a Parisian floral shop.

Next up we have *Eden Perfumes. For him, Stronger is a woody, warm and spicy scent, and for her, Stiletto, although floral has a deep spiciness to it that I love. Eden Perfumes also have a Discovery Set which I mentioned here. Eden Perfumes are an affordable option for good quality and long-lasting fragrance. I featured a few Eden Perfumes in my last year’s Fragrance Gift Guide too.

Another option on the more affordable side is The Body Shop Black Musk Eau De Parfum, a woody, floral scent that is sultry and warm. There is also a gift set available in this scent, or you can make up your own gift set with a few products from this scent. I will be featuring the body lotion from this scent in my Bath & Body Christmas Gift Guide which I will publish in the next few days.

In a similiar price range we have the 4711 Acqua Colonia Intense Pure Breeze of Himalaya Eau de Cologne, a brand new to me, and one that I am so happy I found! This scent is fresh and lively, an intense breeze inspired by the top of the world. I have no intention of getting to the top of the Himalayas, but this perfume certainly is a breath of fresh air.

Last, but certainly not least, Red Roses by Jo Malone. They had me at “A voluptuous blend of seven of the world’s most exquisite roses”. If you are a fan of roses, then you will love this, you will feel like you are walking around with a fresh bouquet of roses all day.

What is your favourite olfactory group? Do you have any fragrances on your wishlist?

I think the mini replica fragrance test set is a great idea as it is quite an expensive brand, it would be lovely to try a few of them out before buying a full size.
