Let’s jump into my May First Impressions, a round-up of all the products I have tried in May. I have already written reviews on most of the products, so I will just link to the review and give a brief review.
The Rose Beauty Edit was the only edit I did in May, sigh. All of the products impressed me, but I think the Max Factor blush and L’Occitane soap are the best!
I shared my thoughts on some new *Maybelline Launches, and the Master Strobing Stick and Brow Precise products were impressive!
How stunning is the *essie Luxe Effects collection?
Another *essie Collection I tried out in May, is the Fall 2017 collection, and ‘playing koi’ is my favourite!
Last of the nail collections is the *Morgan Taylor Sweetheart Squadron. Both quite unique shades, and two-coaters! Want this collection, well there is a competition this month, where you can win a Sweetheart Squadron hamper. Check out the Morgan Taylor SA Instagram page for more details on how to enter.
I also got to play with the new *Dermalogica Stress Positive Eye Lift. I have been using this daily, and I really love the effect it has on my eye area.
I have been trying out a few new masks, and I think I might even do a full review on these goodies. First up, the Avene Soothing Moisture Mask is a lifesaver. I bought this a while ago, and I am so mad at myself for taking so long to try it. I love to leave it on overnight and wake up to plump skin! AVON also has a moisture mask/cream cleanser, but I don’t think it does as good a job. And the fact that it is also a cleanser, means you can’t leave it on overnight. The Himalaya Herbal Almond & Cucumber Peel-off Mask is slightly painful to peel off, and it is best to keep it away from eyebrows! It does peel off impurities too though, so I think it is worth it. Lastly, the erborian Double Peeling Creme is a creamy mask/scrub, with both physical and chemical exfoliators. My skin looks refined and smooth after use, and I really wish this brand was still available locally.
Local brand Spalicious has a delicious *Limited Edition Lemongrass & Eucalyptus range. It smells refreshing, and really is a treat for your senses, as well as your body of course. You can find the full review here.
Clarins launched a new product in the *Bright Plus Range, the Brightening Body Veil. This is a real treat to use, and makes me feel fancy. It smells so luxurious and feels silky smooth.
Hands and feet need some pampering this winter, so I have reached for the Dr. Sole Foot Butter and the Beauty Factory Hand Mask. Both products are nice, but I don’t think they do anything amazing.
Last of the products are a few new dry shampoos I have been trying. The *Label M Brunette Dry Shampoo is perfect for dark hair colours, as it doesn’t leave that dreaded white ashy cast. It also doesn’t have a scent, so it won’t interfere with your perfume, on application it has a bit of a chemical scent which quickly disappears. The Colab New York Dry Shampoo smells amazing, and really is sheer, although it doesn’t leave my hair looking as clean as the Label M, I quite like it. Lastly, the Sephora Express Dry Shampoo doesn’t leave a residue, even though it comes out white. It somehow disappears and works really well on dark hair.
I also had my first *Micro-Needling Treatment in May, something I have wanted to do for quite a while.
