Hi Ladies
Wow the year has flown past, just three months left!
It is time for my September Favourites! I also have a fail, and some empties to share with you today.
Let me start with the most weird and wonderful, the Baby Foot Mask, I bought this in Thailand, and it is so good! I had previously used the Skin Logic Foot Peel which you can find at Dischem, which made my feet peel mildly. This one on the other hand made my skin peel like a snake shedding its skin. I soaked my feet every other day which helped the peeling, and I had to resist putting foot cream on. Once it had started peeling I started applying foot cream to the new baby soft skin only. The peeling lasts about a month, which is quite long, but it is worth it. My feet are now summer ready! The local alternatives to this are the Skin Logic and Milky Foot peels, both found at Dischem.
Africa Organics Baobab Clay Wash, also from Dischem is amazing! It is a clay body wash, has an amazing orange scent and cleanses skin really well. It has bentonite clay which mildy exfoliates and draws toxins from the skin and baobab fruit powder to ensure moisture isn’t stripped from the skin. This is a great and affordable body wash! Everyone has been going crazy for The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Body Clay and The Body Shop Moroccan Rhassoul Body Clay, although I haven’t tried those, waiting ten minutes for a clay body mask to dry before I jump in the shower seems like a bit of a mission to me. This could be the more convenient budget friendly option, if you have tried both, please do let me know!
Pond’s spot clear even tone Facial Foam* is a multi-action facial foam and scrub which fights 10 oil and spot problems. This cleanser is a bit drying for my skin if I use it twice a day every day, but when I get the occasional spot I massage it onto the spot, leave it on for a few minutes and then rinse off. After two uses the spot is gone. This is excellent for people suffering from acne, but might be a bit drying to use twice a day.
Sampar First Hands Cream* is my current favourite hand cream, it leaves my hands incredibly soft and smells amazing! It has hydrating and plumping properties, and leaves a silky soft feeling without being greasy. You know that silky feeling you get when you apply a primer to your face, this cream makes your hands feel like that! Sampar is available at selected Edgars, Foschini and Woolworths stores.
Revlon Absolute Radiance CC Cream, I picked this up at Dischem because it was on sale, and reminded me of my Chanel CC Cream. It has medium coverage and an spf 30. It leaves skin looking healthy and radiant, and is perfect for day time.
LA Girl Matte Flat Finish Pigment Gloss in Dreamy. These lip products were a hit and a miss, some colours being amazing and some being tacky with uneven coverage. Dreamy is definitely a hit, it has great colour payoff, although I have to blend it with my finger as it doesn’t apply evenly using the applicator. Dreamy is a shade that would suit any skin tone, and if you are thinking of getting one, let it be this one!
Claire’s Makeup Sponge, is basically a beauty blender on a stick, although it isn’t as bouncy as a beauty blender. I found this at Clicks, along with some other Claire’s brushes, which shared in my September Haul post here. I use it to blend my concealer under my eyes, and it works really well. I dampen it with a spray of Avene Thermal Spring Water or The Body Shop Vitamin E Face Mist. I think it was just over R100, and I am loving it!
Sephora Heated Eyelash Curler, I went into detail about this here, so I won’t ramble too much. It is compact and curls well and is a favourite for me!
Lastly is this Flat Kabuki Brush which I bought from Ebay, along with a couple of other brushes which you can check out here. It is so similiar to my Sigma F80, except that the handle is shorter. It is soft and blends so seamlessly, and I find myself reaching for this every day.
Next up is a fail unfortunately, the Freeman Blackberry Gel Facial Cleanser. It is so runny, every time I open it I get enough product to wash my entire body. The cleanser itself isn’t that bad, but this would have worked better in a pump bottle. I love Freeman masks and I had high hopes for this, but it fell short.
I don’t often post empties, because I never end up keeping the containers, once something is finished off to the bin it goes. I really wish The Body Shop had a recycling policy like MAC, where you can bring in your empties and get a free body butter or something. Anyway, I have three empties to share with you today.
The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter. This is a favourite of mine, and definitely something I would repurchase. I have since bought the Camomile Cleansing Oil, so I will see how that turns out.
I love these Body Butter Duo’s from The Body Shop, one side for those dry areas and one for every where else. This scent is amazing too. I have about 10 body butters from The Body Shop that I have yet to use, so once those run out, I will definitely be repurchasing.
Lastly Erborian Lip Bome, I just love this jar! At first I wasn’t too impressed with this lip balm, I preferred my thicker Carmex or Lip Sano, but it has grown on me. I wish we still had Erborian in South Africa.

Oh I live for The Body Shop camomile cleansing oil! It takes off all trace of make up grimme and stress. I will not sleep well without massaging my face with it as a night time pre cleanse. I had to give my ponds cleanser to a teen with oily skin, it stripped my skin off everything. Thank you for this post, I enjoyed it.
Now I really look forward to trying the oil. Have you tried the balm yet? It really is amazing! Yip, I also can’t use the Ponds cleanser often, but it works great as a once off treatment. Thank you for reading!
Have to agree with you on the LA Girl Matte Flat Finish Pigment Gloss in Dreamy ! I bought Frisky and Bazaar – not so happy with these shades 🙁
Please suggest other affordable Matt Liquid lips – THANK YOU
I also bought bazaar, I find it okay, not great. Unfortunately I do not use many matte lip products, I know NYX has a matte lip cream, but I haven’t tried it before. And Catrice and Essence have some new liquid lipsticks out, but they are not matte. I don’t think there are many affordable matte lip products out there.
Great post Azraa 🙂 i didnt know some of these products existed lol… would love to read more ’empties’ posts.
Haha, that is what I am here for… 🙂
