February First Impressions

Hi Ladies

It is time to share my thoughts on the products I have tried in February, actually it was time two weeks ago, but better late than never, right? I love trying new products, from skincare to haircare to makeup, I love it all, I am not fussy!

Kiehls Turmeric and Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque

First up is one of the new masques from Kiehl’s, the *Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque. Kiehl’s truly loves long names, remember the name of the BB Cream! This product is meant to invigorate and brighten dull skin to reveal a healthier and more radiant you. As you may have guessed from the name, it contains Turmeric and Cranberry, which together covers all bases; anti-inflammatory, brightening, exfoliating and both ingredients are high in anti-oxidants too. The masque can be a bit messy because of the cranberry seeds which tend to stick onto my skin, but the effects far outweigh the one con. My skin looks brighter and healthier, I would use this every day if I had the time!

Clarins Energiser Cream

Next up is the Clarins Daily Energizer Cream which is amazing! It is a light gel cream that melts into skin immediately leaving skin hydrated and glowing. I like using this during the day for a fresh, light but hydrating face cream. My skin borders on dry, and even though this is a gel-cream it does a superb job of moisturising, without being oily.

Sampar South Africa

*Sampar Lavish Dream Cream and *Velvet Cleansing Milk are luxury in a bottle. I love the scent and feel of the cleanser, it is pure heaven washing my face, said no-one ever until they used this cleanser! The Lavish Dream Cream is rich and velvety, and is definitely reserved for me for winter, it is a really nourishing treat.

Simple skincare south africa

Hydraluron is meant to hydrate your skin by boosting the skins moisture levels and preventing moisture loss, all thanks to Hyaluronic Acid. I do find this moisturising although I can’t say it is the best product for me. I much prefer hydrating face oils.

The Simple Light Moisturiser was featured in my February Favourites, so I won’t talk about it much here, except to say that I love it!

Sante Face Cream

Sante Day Cream is a great day cream for sensitive skin, it is hydrating and light and I really enjoy this cream. I like that is isn’t too rich or complicated and works really well over a rich serum.

The Body Shop Vitamin C Facial Radiance Powder Mix was also a favourite this month, so I won’t get into too much detail here.

Oliv Ultra Smooth Face Care is quite a rich thick cream that instantly comes skin. I wish I had a bigger tub of this, it is a gem!

Lastly, REN Omega 3 Night Repair Serum is an oily serum, which has a faint oil omega oil smell which doesn’t bother me much. This product works great to hydrate my skin and plump it up.

Garnier Ultimate Blends South Africa

*Garnier Ultimate Blends have launched in South Africa, and I wrote all about it here. There is a range for every hair type at a price that makes it hard to resist.

Lux Soft Touch

I received this delightful package from Lux, and I was impressed. I am a shower oil fan, and I usually find all soaps except for Dove too drying. But the *Lux Soft Touch soap doesn’t dry out my skin at all, it smells amazing like floral heaven, lathers well without leaving a tight feeling and feels like luxury on a budget.

Beauticology Body Butter

I picked up this Beauticology Body Butter while trolling the aisles of Dischem, and I love it. It is moisturising, smells amazing and is affordable. What’s not to love?

Revlon Love is on Perfume

I received some Revlon goodies a while ago which included this amazing *Love Is On perfume, I did a full review on this affordable but sophisticated scent here, so I will not harp on.

Revlon Affordable Perfume

Some other Revlon scents I tried were the *Fire & Ice Inferno and Ice Radiance. I wasn’t a huge fan of Inferno, but Ice Radiance is so fresh and light and great that I featured it in my February Favourites.

Makeup Revolution South Africa

The Makeup Revolution Heart Blushers and Highlighters are pigmented and baked to perfection. My favourites are Peachy Keen and Goddess of Faith. There are some that I knew would not suit me, so they have gone straight to my Blog Sale.

Physicians Formula Argan Wear Blush and Bronzer Dark skin swatch

Wow is all I can say! These stunning Physician’s Formula Argan Wear products are amazing. I bought them ages ago when they were just launched, and although it took me so long to actually use them it was worth the wait. The gold is just an over spray which I suggest you brush off before using it because it is pretty chunky, unless glitter face is your thing. I love both the Argan Wear Ultra-Nourishing Argan Oil Blush in Rose and the Ultra-Nourishing Argan Oil Bronzer in Bronzer. The scent of both products are pretty intense, so if you are not a fan of scented beauty products I suggest you stay away, although I personally like the scent. As with other powder products from Physician’s Formula they include a brush, which I have never actually tried, so I cannot comment on that. As if the pigment and application isn’t enough, both products are infused with Argan Oil, and are meant to have skin care benefits too, which is a bonus for me, since even if they didn’t have those benefits I would buy them! I also bought the Argan Wear BB Cream which is a firm favourite too. The only gripe I have with this brand is the lack of testers!

Essence lipstick

I also tried out some essence lip products, two of which I loved, essence never fails to disappoint. The three lighter shades have gone to my Blog Sale, because they were just too light and didn’t do much for me.

Decleor BB Cream Dark Swatch

Catrice Made to Stay Smoothing Lip Polish is somewhere between a lip gloss and a liquid lipstick, highly pigmented without being drying. I think these are permanent and I would highly recommend trying one.

Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Matte Liquid Lipstick in Serenity was another February Favourite! I have gotten a few queries about this liquid lipstick on my Blog Sale, unfortunately it is not for sale, but I do have a couple of the Star Powder Highlighters for sale.

Decleor BB Cream is nice, not great, I wouldn’t recommend it, just because it is too expensive and doesn’t deliver enough to warrant the price.

The Body Shop Born Lippy Strawberry Lip Balm is moisturising and smells really nice, as most products from The Body Shop do. It also leaves lips with a nice red moisturising tint.

Best tinted lip crayons

2True Cheek n Lip Tints are so great! I love tints, especially in summer when powder is too heavy, cream is too melty, but you still want some colour on your cheeks.

All the lip crayons are fantastic, I love how easy they are to use and that they give such good colour payoff.

I am not sure yet about the Catrice Liquid Lip Tint, I feel like it may not have done enough for me, but I shall be giving it another try.

Stila Black Brow Pencil

I am a huge Stila fan! All the Smudge Sticks are amazing, they are so pigmented and long lasting, and they apply so smoothly!

I was a bit hesitant about the Precision Glide Brown Pencil, since I bought it in black, I usually use dark brown. But I was pleasantly surprised! It applies so light and natural and doesn’t look painted on at all. The retractable pencil is so thin which allows for small hair like strokes. It also has a brush on the other side. This is a great brow product, and I do recommend trying it out.

Stila Lip Glaze in Cranberry is a nice pigmented lip gloss, it lasts longer than most other lipglosses, and if you are a gloss fan you should try these out! There are some Stila Lip Glazes on my Blog Sale too.

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Bellissima is too light for me, so it is on my Blog Sale.

New Revlon Mascara Collection South Africa

Oh *Revlon Ultimate All-In-One Mascara you make my heart skip a beat! If you are looking for a new mascara try this red capped beauty! The *Super Length Mascara is nice too, but nothing beats All-In-One! You can read my full review here.

Essence happy girls are pretty south africa

I bought a couple of things from the essence Happy Girls Are Pretty Trend Edition. The lip balms, eyeliner and contour palette are my favourites! The blush is okay, but pretty light. If you had to get one thing from this collection, I would recommend the lip balms or contour palette. The lip balm even featured in my February Favourites!

LA Girl New products launches at Dischem

I did a full post on the new LA Girl Cosmetic products including swatches, so I will keep it short. Get the highlighter stick, and possibly a blush stick, Velour is my favourite blush stick. They both featured in my February Favourites. The lipsticks are really nice, Frisky and Hush are my favourites. Lastly, if you find the correctors, grab them quick, they are really good!

Catrice Lumination Dischem South Africa

It took me a while to try the Catrice Lumination range, but I finally did! I love them all, except possibly the Bronzer, which is slightly too orange/shimmery for me. But I haven’t fully decided yet. The blush and highlighter are my absolute favourites, and yes, the highlighter was one of my February Favourites. The eyeshadows are really pretty, and work really well as highlighters too!

South African Beauty Blog Prettiful Blog

I was sent some *Gosh Copenhagen goodies to try, you can read my full review here.

Essie Luxe Collection

*essie Luxe Effects is now available in store. There is a full review and swatches here.

Morgan Taylor Urban Cowgirl COllection

*Urban Cowgirl by Morgan Taylor is available in store too. Full review and swatches can be found here.

Does Pet angel Tangle angel brush really work

Lastly, Pet Angel. Tangle Angel’s cute pet sister! This provides the least dramatic grooming session ever. If you have fussy, long haired dogs, then do yourself and them a favour and get this. Unless your dog is a miniature something, like my Pomeranian, I suggest the bigger brush. I like having them both though, the bigger brush covers big areas quicker, while the smaller brush is good for smaller difficult to reach areas and for small dogs of course!

Thanks for reading Ladies!
