Hi Ladies
On the blog today I have some exciting Revlon products that have recently launched!
First up, the Revlon Photoready Instafix Foundation (R279) which comes in 5 shades, from Nude to Caramel. I received Natural Beige, Medium Beige and Golden Beige. This convenient stick foundation boasts an SPF 20, and is unbelievably creamy and blendable.
I was really surprised by this foundation. I imagined stick foundations to be heavy and cakey, but this blends like a dream, to give a light and flawless finish. I like to use the lightest shade on my highlighting areas, and the darkest shade on my contouring areas. This gives a lovely natural contoured effect.
Below are some swatches. As you can see, Golden Beige, the darkest shade is a bit more cool toned than the others, which makes it a perfect contouring shade. Because these blend so well, you only need a tiny bit to cover your face. I apply a couple of swipes on my cheeks, forehead and chin, and then blend to perfection.
And look how well it blends! Your skin, perfected is exactly what this foundation does! This has been my go to daily foundation for both the day and night, since it is light but buildable, easy to touch up, long lasting even in immense heat and looks flawless. And it is so convenient to carry around, no messy tubes, no broken compacts. Well done Revlon!
And next up, the new Mascara Collection. Have you ever stood in front of a beauty counter staring at the endless possibilities and confused yourself so much that you either leave with something you don’t need or really want, or worse, leave with nothing. Well, Revlon has now simplified our Mascara choices into five simple options, depending on how you like your lashes. Forget plumping, wispy, waterproof, curling, rolling, upside down, and the list goes on.
Pick a lash look, and then pick a Revlon Mascara.
I was sent the Ultimate All-In-One (R159.99) and the Super Length (R149.99) Mascaras. There are three others which sound equally amazing, The Revlon Ultra Volume™ Mascara , Revlon Volume+Length Magnified™ Mascara and Revlon Dramatic Definition™ Mascara which are all R149.99. All five variations come in Blackest Black, Black, and Blackened Brown, and all except the All-In-One come in Waterproof and Non-Waterproof options.
Let’s start with the star, the Ultimate All-In-One Mascara in Blackest Black! I don’t know how, but this little brush (pictured below) and the formulation really does it all! This lasts all day without smudging or flaking. My boyfriend even commented that my lashes look miles long, thanks again Revlon! This mascara definitely delivers on its five promises, Volume, Length, Definition, Lift and Intense Color. If you are keen to try one mascara from this new collection, let it be this one, you will not be disappointed! I love the small brush, since it allows me to coat even the tiniest top and bottom lashes without smudging my entire eyelid.
Next up, the Super Length Mascara in Blackest Black. I like the brush (pictured below) and the formulation too, it really does a good job of separating and lengthening the lashes, but for me, the Ultimate All-In-One does a better job at lengthening and more! This isn’t a bad mascara, I just think it is beaten by its smaller, red-capped sister.
On a deeper note, World Cancer Day has just passed (4th February), and I think most of us have been affected by cancer in some way or other, whether it was a family member, a friend or even yourself. My gran was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2003, and had a double mastectomy and was all clear from then, until now. A few weeks ago she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer, with no option of removal except for Chemotherapy. This really affected our close knit family and we have all taken it pretty hard. But there is always hope!
This brings me to Cancervive, which is a cause very close to Revlon’s Heart. These phenomenal woman do amazing work in our communities, educating about the early warning signs and proving that cancer is not a death sentence – that there is indeed life after cancer.
“We can. I can.” The new tagline for World Cancer Day explores how we all have the power to reduce the global burden of cancer. Cancervive embraces this mission locally.
Cancervive is a survivor driven project that was established due to the dire need for Cancer awareness and education in South African communities, especially the remote rural areas where access to information is a real challenge.
“Our objective is to educate and create awareness in an impactful and unique way in order to ensure that our message is not only understood but acted upon. Just as Cancer affects everyone in different ways – everyone can do their bit and take action to reduce the debilitating impact this disease has.” Says Janie du Plessis, CEO of Cancervive.
So get involved! This is your chance to make a difference! You are the solution!
