Ladies, today I would like to share my thoughts on these awesome and affordable NEW brushes from CALA and Urban Studio! When I saw these at Dischem, I nearly fainted, okay not really, but I was really excited! I am a huge fan of CALA and Urban Studio brushes, as they are affordable without skimping on quality. And now they have added pretty looking to that list.
Let’s start with this gorgeous CALA Rose Bliss Collection (R160) which contains four brushes, two for the face and two for the eyes. All of the brushes are super soft and of course super pretty! I was even considering not using them, and just displaying them, but what a waste!
Powder Brush- Soft and fluffy, picks up product quite well, but not too much, definitely works better with loose powder. This brush is great for finishing powder, blending or light bronzing to warm the face.
Angled Blush Brush- Picks up blush so well! This brush is also soft and fluffy, and the shape allows for precise blush application.
Eye Smudge Brush- Firm for precise application, picks up product so well! This brush is quite firm, and I love using it to apply the darker shade of eyeshadow along the edges. The point helps with precise application, and the firmness means less mistakes.
Eyeshadow Brush- Soft and great for blending. This soft fluffy eyeshadow brush is great for applying the lighter base eyeshadow and also for blending. It doesn’t poke at my eyelids, and blends well without removing the shadow.
Next up I bought the Urban Studio Rose Gold Pro Face Brushes which range from about R80-R90 each. If eye brushes are more your thing, there is also an Eye Brush Trio in this range. It is also great to know that these have 100% Vegan Bristles.
Angled Contour Brush- I love this brush, as a flat top foundation brush. I have no idea why they would call it an angled contour brush, or how it can even be used as such. It has quite a broad flat top, and would be way too big to use as a contour brush. But as a foundation brush, AMAZING!
Foundation Brush- I was hoping this brush wouldn’t be a flat paddle foundation brush, as I find those really streaky to apply foundation, and I usually use them to apply face masks instead. But unfortunately it is, it was hard to see from the box, as it looked quite fluffy and broad. But all is not lost, as it works well to apply and pat in concealer, and the point allows you to get into those hard to reach places. I wouldn’t recommend this brush, but since I bought it I will make the most of it.
Angled Blush Brush- Lastly I have the blush brush which is really great. It is soft and fluffy and picks up and blends product well. The angled shape works well for precise application. However, I don’t think you need both the CALA Rose Bliss blush brush and this one, since they are pretty similiar.
And those are the NEW brushes from CALA and Urban Studio!
See anything you like? I think these would make great Christmas Gifts, but I think they are going to sell out fast!
