August Beauty Haul

Happy Spring! Today I am sharing my August Beauty Haul with you…
August was a good month for beauty… A not so good month for my bank account… From Sephora, Bobbi Brown and OFRA to the usual suspects(Clicks, Dischem and The Body Shop) get comfy because it is gonna be a long one.
Let’s start with Sephora, since most people love it the most! I order from Sephora using Aramex Global but recently it has been more of a hassle than anything else with delayed packages and bad customer service being the norm. At least with the South African Post Office you know what you are going to get, and don’t pay an arm and a leg for bad service. Anyway, moving on to beauty!
I am subscribed to the Sephora Play Box, so I get a monthly box of deluxe samples for $10. Above is the July box, and below is August. It works out to about R300 including Aramex Global shipping, which I really think is worth it. I like deluxe samples, since I hardly finish products anyway, being able to try a few new products/brands every month is really exciting!
So, my July box ended up in India, and I only received it 2 weeks later, luckily all my items were still there and in good order. But imagine how frustrating it was! I still don’t know how it happened, and obviously Aramex took forever to resolve it.
I also ordered some skincare goodies from Peter Thomas Roth.
and some Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stains.
Next up are some goodies I got from the Pro Beauty Expo.
I have been after some OFRA products for a while, and I finally got my hands on some. The liquid lipsticks seem really nice, and the highlighters are so soft and buttery! Their website is launching soon, so I will definitely update this once I have more info.
Every year that I attend the expo I pick up some Creative Glamour brushes. They are affordable and such great quality! They sell individual brushes as well as sets, and if you are looking for some brushes, check them out here.
I have wanted to try the Skindinavia Finishing Spray for ages, and since summer is coming I had to buy this. I also bought a Mehron Velvet Finish Primer Serum and a Kohl Makeup Brush.
The last things I bought from Pro Beauty were all from NYX. Some of the products were expo exclusives and won’t be available at Clicks. The most exciting products I bought were the Strobe of Genius Palette, Lingerie Liquid Lipstick and the Ombre Blush.
While we are on the NYX topic, everytime I am at Clicks and if I find new NYX products I quickly grab them! So I have ended up with quite a NYX collection this month. The stock issues are slowly being resolved, and I have found quite a few new launches recently, as you can see.
My last NYX item from Clicks was the baked blush below. I also bought these cute Clicks Charity makeup sponges.
I finally found the Softlips Cube at Dischem! You may have read my post on the Revlon Contour & Highlight Duo, well after receiving a Duo to review, I loved it so much I had to buy another shade. Lastly, I picked up one of the new Maybelline blushes.
Next I bought a couple of products from Dischem. The Catrice Highlighting Eyeshadows are amazing. I also bought some random unnecessary things.
I have wanted to try the Bioderma Hydrabio Moisturising Mask for ages, so I took the plunge and bought it, and while I was on my hydrated skin quest I bought the serum and moisturiser too.
You may have read how much I loved the LUX Sheer Twilight Body Wash in my July Favourites, so I obviously had to buy some backups. I also bought two other variants to try out. And this Palmolive Strawberry Smoothie Shower Cream looked too good to pass over.
Lastly from Dischem I picked up a few items from the Catrice Bold Softness Limited Edition.
I bought a couple products from Clinique, Estee Lauder and Bobbi Brown. The Dark Spot Defense and CC Cream are summer must-haves!
And lastly I bought some products from The Body Shop. My trusty Cleansing Butter and two other products that caught my interest.
Thanks for reading!
