Hi Ladies
I am back with the second part of my Winter Edit… Hair and Makeup.
If you missed the Skincare Edit, you can check it out here.
Winter Makeup
*essie In the Lobby: This is a perfect dark vampy red, guaranteed to bring the drama in the cold weather. It applies well in two coats, and is so glossy.
essence Soo Glow Cream Highlighter: I have both shades of this highlighter, and I love them both. I much prefer cream products in winter, they don’t look as drying or ageing on the skin, and give off a nice healthy glow. This is a great budget friendly option.
*Dermalogica Hydrablur Primer: Primers are meant to help your skin look better and prepare it for makeup, but if you have dry skin like me, there aren’t many primers out there that meet my needs. You might end up with dry patches all because you wanted some blur in your life. Well, dry skin ladies, Dermalogica has your back, and mine. Take it from someone who suffers from dry skin and hates those patchy bits that creep up after a while, this primer will fix it all, and blur those imperfections!
MAC Pedro Lourenco Cream Color Base in Hush: This is a great subtle highlight, and MAC is always a hit. This was part of a limited edition, but you can get the Cream Color Base from the permanent collection. If you would like to splurge a bit on a cream highlighter, I think you will like this!
*Maybelline Dream Velvet Soft Matte Hydrating Foundation: Matte and hydrating, is that a unicorn I see? Yes, it is! This foundation is light, airy, matte but not flat and does not dry out the skin, in fact it keeps skin hydrated. A little goes a long way, and this offers medium to full coverage, since it is buildable. I like!
The Body Shop Vitamin E Face Mist: This is an all year favourite. It is cooling and refreshing in summer, but in winter it helps to hydrate. I prefer using this instead of a makeup setting spray in winter as it is less drying, and I need to hold on to all the moisture I can!
NYX Cream Blush in Rose Petal: Cream blush is the way to go in winter for a flushed healthy glow. NYX offers some awesome cream blushes at an affordable price, definitely worth a look.
*Physician’s Formula Nude Wear Touch of Glow Stick: Conceal, highlight, perfect, this chubby stick does it all! It is so easy to use, and I really like the finish. I use this over corrector in the under eye area. It isn’t drying which is a huge plus, nobody wants crusty dry eyes.
*Catrice It’s a Very Berry Bash: Berry shades are my favourite for cooler weather, add some drama with this shade from Catrice. I am a huge fan of Catrice products, especially their limited editions, eyeliners and nail polishes.
Bourjois Aqua Laque: Want a bold bright lip colour without the maintenance and touch ups, this is an excellent option. It lasts relatively long, and fades into a stain, which will keep your lips bright even longer. And best of all, it is hydrating and so light on the lips.
Sorbet BB Cream: A favourite of mine, this BB cream is dewy, offers good coverage and is so affordable. Most importantly for winter, it is hydrating! Good one Sorbet!
Winter Hair
Dark and Lovely Amla Legend Oil: This is the best budget hair oil in my opinion, and it smells amazing. It makes my hair silky soft. Try it, you will not be disappointed!
Moroccanoil Restorative Hair Mask: It is important to use a hair mask, and this one from Moroccanoil really does a great job. It nourishes and moisturises and makes my hair look radiant and healthy. I also really like the Intense Hydrating Mask.
Schwarzkopf Bonacure Moisture Kick Beauty Balm: BB for your hair, yes! Just as BB cream provides more than an aesthetic benefit to your face, this product helps hair look smooth and healthy, but also hydrates and protects hair. This is a revolutionary product!
L’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil Oil-in-Cream: This product was on my wishlist, and I finally found it! It smells amazing, makes my hair look and feel amazing, and is relatively affordable. If I had to recommend one product from this list, this is it. This product is enriched with oils, but in the form of a light cream, so if you find hair oils to oily for you, this might be your best friend. The best part of this is that it doesn’t require rinsing, because who needs another step in their routine.
Hask Intense Deep Conditioning Hair Treatment: Need a more affordable treatment option, this treatment from Hask does a great job of conditioning hair and leaving it silky smooth. One of my other favourite Hask products is the Healing Shine Hair Treatment. For affordable hair oils and treatments, Hask is definitely the one to beat!
Do you have any winter recommendations for me?
