The Metallic Beauty Edit

When I think of Metallic Makeup, I think of bold, out-there looks that more often than not age you. But, luckily for all of us non-teenagers, I have pulled together a Metallic Beauty Edit that will give you a metallic yet sophisticated finish.

The Metallic Beauty Edit

Metallic Lips have been having a moment recently, and I definitely did not get on that train! I really do not like the look at all, I find it most unflattering and aging. But, I have found a wearable, flattering and ultra-pretty and subtle metallic lip. The Urban Decay Vice Liquid Lipstick in Trivial is a pretty warm rosy shade with a slight pearl sheen. The sheen is so subtle that until it catches the light you don’t realise it is metallic. It isn’t the longest lasting liquid lipstick, but it is comfortable and something I will definitely keep wearing.

Metallic Eyes have also been having a moment, and a much prettier one, especially thinking of the Stila Glitter and Glow Liquid Eyeshadow. For something low maintenance, easy to use and long lasting, I have been turning to The Balm Batter Up Eyeshadow Stick in Outfield. Outfield is a super dark olive green with a gold/silver shimmer. I have a few different shades, and I love blending them together. The best part about these, is that they last all day!

What is metallic makeup without a highlighter right? Well, the essence Metal Chrome Blush in Copper Crush, although called a blush is definitely more of a highlighter. I love how this applies, however once the pigment starts fading it does leave a few chunky type glitter pieces that aren’t too flattering. I will definitely still use this, but not when I need my makeup to last more than four hours. The texture is a bit rough, and not as silky smooth as I would like, but the shade is absolutely stunning!

The easiest way to incorporate metallics into your look, is definitely on your nails. For an attention grabbing look, go all out, and for something a bit more understated an accent nail works wonderfully. The new *Morgan Taylor Platinum Range is shimmery and holographic, and will definitely make a statement. I have swatches of Liquid Bling on the left, and Disco Days on the right. The dimension these offer is insane!

I am wearing Disco Days in this post over here.
