Hi ladies, it is time for another New Skincare on Trial post. If you haven’t checked out the last few, you can do so over here.
I have been trialing these products for about two months now, so I have a good idea of what works for me, and what doesn’t.
Bioderma Hydrabio Masque- I love how soothing and hydrating this is. I have been using this as an overnight mask, since it has a light creamy consistency that absorbs really well. In the morning my skin is plump and supple, and feels extremely soothed and hydrated.
Bioderma Hydrabio Gel-Creme- This light moisturiser works really well under makeup, and leaves my skin feeling hydrated. It isn’t heavy and greasy which makes it perfect for Summer! I am not a huge fan of the packaging though, I never know if I should squeeze or pump, or do both at the same time!
Indeed Labs Snoxin- This anti-aging peptide serum has a silicone like texture, which gives skin a silky feel when applied. Peptides form proteins, which are necessary building blocks of the skin, without which the skin loses firmness which is when you start to see the appearance of wrinkles and textural changes. With consistent use, as well as other anti-aging ingredients, peptides have been shown to revitalise the skin. My skin is definitely looking more supple and plumper, but how much of it can be attributed to this serum, I am not sure.
Human + Kind Wash-Off Facial Cleanser- I am enjoying this cleanser, especially now that it is Summer, as it has such a refreshing tingling feel to it. It does have quite a strong herbal scent, and when my eyes are sensitive, this does add to the irritation. It is gentle on the skin though, and I find it is best removed with a warm cloth.
Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes- I don’t usually remove my makeup with face wipes, I prefer a balm or oil cleanser or micellar water, but I had heard great things about these wipes, and so I thought I would give it a go as the FIRST step in my cleansing routine. Unfortunately these were quite disappointing, they were quite dry and scratchy, and didn’t do a great job at removing my makeup at all, mostly because they were uncomfortable to use. I did end up finishing the packet though, because I added some micellar water before using it, to moisten the cloth a bit more.
Just Me Makeup Remover Towel- When I found this Makeup Eraser dupe at Dischem, I knew I had to try it out and see how it compares. It works pretty well at removing makeup, and is gentle and soft on the skin. It is definitely a good affordable dupe for the Makeup Eraser. It is a bit smaller in size, but it is good enough to remove makeup from your face.
*Garnier Pure Active 3 in 1- This 3 in 1 wash/scrub/mask really impressed me! I expected it to be quite scrubby and drying, but it wasn’t at all. I have been using this as a cleanser a few times a week and I love how clean, smooth and refined it leaves my skin. I also love the addition of white clay! If you suffer from clogged skin, this would be a great addition to your routine!
Smith’s Rosebud Salve- At first the scent put me off a bit, but I think I am over that now. I really like how light but moisturising this is. I have been using it daily as a lip balm and I am loving it! It is such a pity it isn’t available in South Africa.
And that is all for my New Skincare on Trial. Thanks for reading ladies!

I love the Simple skincare and Indeed Labs. I’ve recently bought a tube of snoxin to try out myself.

Let me know how you get on with it!
I love Indeed Labs’ serums. Not tried Snoxin yet but I feel like I could do with some more peptides in my routine xx
I really like Indeed, unfortunately they pulled out of SA a while ago, bleh!
Indeed Labs are my current go to brand – so well made and not as pricey as others x
Unfortunately they pulled out of South Africa for who knows what reason! I would love to try their Vitamin C and Retinol products!
The Human + Kind Face Wash sounds amazing, I’m definitely going to try and pick it up. I’m obsessed with the Superdrug makeup wipes when I’m feeling lazy 🙂 xx

I love the simple wipes, fab for lazy or ill days! X
I’m a massive fan of simple skincare products, they’re affordable and so good. When it comes to Garnier I’ve had to accept the fact that my skin is just allergic to their products which is a shame because their newest launches are looking so good.

Their skincare is great, and their suncare too!
my mum swears by the simple face wipes!
Perhaps I just got a bad batch then?
Simple Skincare is my fave! Although I have been experimenting so far in 2018 with new products! Thanks for sharing x
I really want to try more from them, but they aren’t so easily accessible in SA!
I have been curious about the Garnier face wash so I’m glad to know that it’s good! Must pick it up xx
It is great, and has white clay! So happy with it!
I love that Bioderma range. The mask works wonders on my dry skin.
I love that Bioderma range. The mask works wonders on my dry skin xx
It is great! Try use it overnight, you will be amazed!
I love the Hydrabio serum and I know I would love the gel cream too. I have Snoxin somewhere waiting to be used and I’m glad to hear you enjoy it. X
Yup the serum is amazing too! And the other skin perfector. Have you tried it?
I would like to try the Just Me Makeup Remover Towel. It sounds promising ☺
It is great Reonette. And so affordable!

I need to up my skincare at this time of year. My skin hates me right now. I am all about lathering myself in cream and letting it work it’s magic!
You should try a hydrating facial oil, I find it does wonders! And feels so luxurious too!
I’m upping my skincare this year, I get really into a routine and then my skin changes and I do the bare minimum but suffer the consequences when I try and apply makeup x
Yup especially with dry dehydrated skin! Makeup always clings to the patches!
I’ve never tried bioderma but I always here so many good things about it!
It is a lovely skincare brand, and quite affordable for the quality!
I used to only ever use simple’s face wipes until I discovered miscellar water – now I don’t think I could go back as they are so much dryer and not as effective (as you found). There’s a lot of products here I haven’t heard of – that rosebud salve sounds really good and just what I need in this cold weather! x
Yup they were really disappointing! It is lovely for dry lips, and any other dry patches!
I love that Bioderma mask and I do the same – slather some on in place of my night cream. It works like an absolute dream!
I know Simple also does Micellar wipes (kind of like Garnier with their regular wipes and their micellar ones), so perhaps those would be a better bet? I know we don’t get them in SA though which is sad.
Hahahaha and that Smith’s Rosebud Salve – I loved it and have a tin somewhere (must go home and look, I found it worked so well) but friend told me it smells like baby powder which put me off a bit. Used it in Lesotho when I went to the freezing Afriski and it did an amazing job at protecting my lips in the cold, and I used it on chapped areas of my face too!
The masque is great isn’t it! I find a few Simple products at Spar, which is where I bought these. Haha yup the scent is weird, but at least it does the job.
Where did you get your Indeed Labs product from?
Hehe I stocked up when Clicks stopped stocking it!
