March First Impressions

Ladies, today I am sharing my March First Impressions with you. You may remember my February First Impressions post was pretty dismal, but I think I am more than making up for it in March!

First Impressions

First up we have this big *Loving Touch Hamper that I received a while ago. I remember my first razor was from Loving Touch, and it was a very simple, thin handled one that worked perfectly, but unfortunately they don’t make blades for it anymore. When I received this I was quite excited to try it, and really hoped that it would be great, since they are one of the most affordable razor brands. The Sensitive Shave Gel (R50) is amazing, it turns from a gel into a foam and doesn’t irritate my skin at all, it is also quite moisturising allowing me to dry shave. Now onto the razors, I really like the Allure Razor (R39), although it isn’t as thin as my first one, it comes pretty close, it fits nicely in my hand, and isn’t too bulky. The cartridges are good too, and only R25 for a pack of 3. Unfortunately the Disposables let me down, I just felt that they got blunt so quickly. But, the Allure Razor is something I will continue to use!

A Purple Beauty Edit

Next up I have a few purple goodies that I decided to throw together in an edit, since the Pantone Colour of the Year is Ultra Violet. I will have a full post up in the next few weeks, but here are my first impressions. The *Alien Beautifying Body Cream leaves skin soft and silky with the gorgeous lingering Alien scent. Moving on to home fragrance, the three-wick Baylis & Harding Wild Blackberry & Apple Candle is pretty impressive for the price. It burns evenly, fills the room with the cosy scent, and looks high-end too. Onto skincare, the *SIX Age Reverse Cream comes in this gorgeous bottle, and is enriched with Retinol, Vitamin C, Rose Hip Oil, as well as Artichoke Leaf Peptide. It is quite a rich moisturiser, that I think would benefit those with dry or ageing skin. It is soothing and hydrating, and doesn’t irritate my skin at all. Moving onto makeup I have the amazing Physician’s Formula Youthful Wear Spotless Foundation that is lightweight while still offering great coverage. I am seriously impressed by this foundation. I love the tarte Amazonian Clay Blush formula, so this palette is pretty much a dream come true with ten shades! The Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Voodoo is a warm purple with a sparkle finish for when you need to draw some extra attention to your eyes. Lastly we have Dress Call from my favourite polish range, essie Gel Couture, it is such a gorgeous pastel purple!

For my New Skincare on Trial series I have some exciting products that I am trying out, and a full review will be up in May. Let’s start with the *SIX Skincare Brightening Enzyme Peel and Maginificent Eye Gel. The Peel is lovely, it is gentle, but effective, and although it says it should be left on for a minute and then wet with water and massaged for two minutes, I much prefer to leave it on for about twenty minutes before rinsing for the best results and a good tingle. The Eye Gel is hydrating and cooling, and is great to soothe puffy tired eyes. I have tried a few eye gels, and some dry into a weird film, which ends up pilling under makeup, but luckily this doesn’t do anything of the sort. I also have the new *Filorga Lift Designer Ultra-lifting Serum that comes with a nifty cooling roller, and a button on the side that dispenses the serum. The serum feels silky on the skin and is easily absorbed. It leaves my skin feeling supple and hydrated, but not oily at all. I absolutely love giving my skin a cooling massage every day with this serum, and my skin looks perkier after use. There are a few new additions to the RVB SKINLAB diego dalla palma Natural Line, and I was sent the *Echinacea Black Cumin Soufflé Cream. My gosh does this cream smell amazing! The cream is super nourishing, and makes my skin feel comforted and supple, and the fact that it includes a natural wonder ingredient- Black Cumin Oil which is known for its anti-oxidant properties among other things means it is a yes from me! Lastly I have a new launch from Theravine, the *Tri-Active Hydrating Night Cream. It has the most luxurious melting texture, and my skin feels plump and hydrated by morning. It contains Squalane, Niacinamide and Hyaluronic Acid all great ingredients to restore the integrity of the skin and increase hydration.

New in Skincare

I was invited to the Milk Solutions Salon in Parkmore recently for a *Milk Solutions Heel Peel and a paint with Jessica Polish. The Peel wasn’t painful or uncomfortable, yet left my feet baby soft. The Jessica polish lasted on my toes for ages without chipping and I was pleasantly surprised! I will have a full review of my treatment as well as the little goodies I got below up soon. The Milk & Honey Sole Saviours Kit contains three items dedicated to maintaining your soft feet. I am loving the Hydrating Heel Balm, it just melts into the skin, put on a pair of socks, and let it get to work. The Callus Care Cream is very runny, and is meant to be used twice daily to reduce calluses. The Softening Foot Lotion is a great non-greasy lotion, and I really love to use this when I am not wearing socks, as although it is hydrating it isn’t too rich to make my feet slide around in my shoes.

Aaahh, the gorgeous collection that is MAC Padma Lakshmi! I have a full review and swatches over here, but be warned it is lustworthy.

Lastly, I had my first treatment at Skin Renewal Bedfordview, which was a Dermapen and Laser Genesis Combo, which I chatted about over here.
