Hi Ladies
Earlier this month the New York Times published an article on Kylie Jenner’s Beauty Regimen. Like it or not she has become a beauty and style icon. Personally, I like it.
Let’s take a look at her favourite products! We don’t get most of these brands here in SA, so I will first list the brands we do have, and then the rest. Even if we do have the brand we may not have that particular product, so please forgive me.
Skincare:
Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado, Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes, Christie Kidd Facewash, TiZO3 sunblock, Super Salve Mimosa Blossom Dream Cream and Sephora Collection Face Masks.
Makeup:
Ardell Natural Wispies Eye Lashes, Lancome Hypnose Drama mascara, Sally Hansen Salon Airbrush Legs Leg Makeup, Kardashian Beauty Bronzer, Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Pressed Powder, Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation, NARS Orgasm Blush, Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit, Anastasia Beverly Hills Concealer, , Anastasia Beverly Hills Highlighting Duo Pencil. Hmmmm, no favourite lip products mentioned, although she does say that she prefers lip liners over lipsticks.
So, apparently Kylie doesn’t like to wear heavy makeup, and all those selfies of her are when she has her makeup done for a photo shoot or interview. She does however love lashes, bronzer, lip liner and a light foundation.
Fragrance:
Gives her a headache, but she does like Victoria’s Secret Coconut Passion Fragrance Mist.
Haircare:
Kylie uses Moroccan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner for her hair.
Other:
She does Juvederm fillers for her lips.
Well, at least we do get a couple of her favourite products in SA, and I am glad that there are a couple of affordable products too! You can read the full article here.
In other news, her website has finally launched. You can check it out here. Kim, Khloe and Kendall have also launched theirs, which you can check out, here, here and here. Each website also has a corresponding app. Kourtney’s site is still under construction, but below is what you can expect from the others according to the editorial content director.
“Kim is very high-end. It’s about mixing high fashion with being a mom. I think you’re going to see a lot of beauty from her. She’s focusing a lot on tutorials.
For Kylie — she’s the one who has the most distinctive personality. She’s really setting herself apart…you’re going to see that with her content. You’re going to see fashion and beauty but you’re going to see them done in a unique way.
Khloé is someone who always makes me laugh. She’s going to be doing a dating and sex column. She’s also someone who is focused on her health and well-being. You’re going to see that with spot content and also really premium content that is behind a subscriber paywall.
Kendall is a high-fashion model, so the look and feel of her app is very clean and crisp. Nobody knows who the real Kendall Jenner is — they see her walking the catwalk. We don’t know much about who she is and what she likes to do. Her video content is unique, she chose to shoot it herself, unlike the others.”
Unfortunately most of the content is for paying subscribers only, about R40 a month for Kylie’s site, I’m not too sure about the price for the others. But there is some exciting free content too, like ‘How to choose the best under eye concealer with Gigi Gorgeous here as well as ‘How to get Kylie’s 18th Birthday Look’ here.
Would you subscribe and pay R40 a month? Do you think it is worth it?
P.S. Have you entered the Benefit Cosmetics Giveaway here yet?
I would not pay – as Lucinda said – there are many people on YouTube and blogs we all can learn from …. but that’s just my opinion.
I agree with you guys completely, there are many actual make up artists that we can learn from for FREE
Personally i wouldnt pay… there are so many great and talented people that i can learn from… blogs, youtube etc.
What are your thoughts?
I agree, I wouldn’t pay either, it would have been great if there content was free though
