July Beauty Favourites + Empties

Hellloooo, I am so happy Spring is approaching. I am planning a Spring Beauty Edit, and I can’t wait for the weather to warm up! I spent a bit of time sorting my makeup collection recently, and found a few forgotten gems, which became my July Beauty Favourites!

July Beauty Favourites

Recently I have been using the *Nimue Conditioner Tonic quite regularly, and my skin looks so much more refined and even. I think the results are similiar to using a Glycolic Acid Toner, less clogged and a brighter skin tone.

I have one new and a few old makeup favourites this month.

The *L’Oreal Color Riche Matte in Mahogany Studs (swatched here) is a new addition to my lip arsenal, and I love everything about it. It applies like a dream, and it is silky smooth. It is long lasting and so pigmented while still being comfortable on the lips. You can see more Color Riche Matte shades as well as the other new L’Oreal Launches and swatches over here.

Swatched above L-R:

The Revlon Age Defying Concealer has been in my collection for ages, and to be honest I kind of forgot about it. But I recently started using it again, and I have not stopped! This has been my go to concealer every single day. It is creamy, and covers dark under eye circles well while brightening the area without creasing or making my under-eye area look dry.

Another rediscovered gem is the LA Girl Matte Flat Finish Pigment Gloss in Bazaar. This affordable, highly pigmented matte gloss is amazing, and I am so glad I rediscovered it! Although it is matte, it is still a gloss, so it doesn’t dry down completely, however this does make it more comfortable on the lips.

One of my long time favourite blush shades is the Clinique Cheek Pop in Ginger Pop. The formula is soft and silky while still being dense so there is no fall out or powdery look. The colour is just perfection, and the wear time is more than eight hours.

Can you see a little patch of orange in the swatch above, between the LA Girl and Clinique? That is the MAC Prep + Prime CC Powder in Recharge. It is a setting powder that Colour Corrects while setting your makeup. Although it has an orange tint, it isn’t so intense that you look will like an Oomp Loompa. The swatch above was heavy handed to show the tint. But as you can see below, there is only a slight tint of orange, which cancels out the dark under eye circles perfectly! It is silky smooth and really fine, so it doesn’t crease or emphasise any dryness.

I also have a few empties to share with you this month:

The La Mer SPF 20 Protecting Fluid is a thin fluid that offers medium sun protection. The Nivea Fluid feels almost the same, and has higher protection at a fraction of the price.

I really love The Body Shop Hemp Hand Protector in Winter.

The The Body Shop Almond Conditioning Hand Wash is a gentle and moisturising way to wash hands, as opposed to harsh and drying soaps.
