Ladies, today I am sharing my February Beauty Favourites. A mix of old and new, mostly on the makeup side. I also have a few empties to share! I really do love finishing products!
I featured this WASS Thank You Night Repair Treatment Oil in my Favourite South African Skincare Brands post, and I am still loving it! It is so nourishing and hydrating without being greasy, and gives me supple skin by morning!
I also featured the *Ecotools Total Perfecting Blender in a recent Beauty Edit and I still haven’t gotten over how easy and quick this sponge makes makeup application. I use the long flat tip to apply concealer under my eyes, and it is the perfect shape! I then use the large flat area to apply my foundation. I have even been washing it after every use so that I can use it daily, which is something I never do!
Next up is the MAC Haute & Naughty Too Black Lash Mascara. So, when I first tried this mascara, it gave a dramatic full lash look, which is great, but sometimes you just want something a bit less. Fast forward to one night where I by-mistake turned the upper part of the lid (the one without glitter), and who knew, there was a less dramatic lash look inside. Basically if you use the upper lid, it pulls the wand through a tube, which reduces the amount of product on the spoolie for a less dramatic look. You can read all about it here. Well, basically this is my go-to mascara now!
Lastly I have two oldies, swatched below from Top-Bottom:
MAC Casual Colour, Lip & Cheek Colour in Secret Admirer was part of a limited edition collection a while ago. Although this specific shade is no longer available, the product does pop up quite often in most of the collections. I originally bought this to use as a cream blush, which I don’t use too often, but recently I have started using it as a lip product, which is why it is one of my favourites today! It is such a pigmented but still hydrating bright shade that leaves a wearable stain once faded, and I can’t believe it took me this long to start using it as a lippie!
Next up, we have the Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid in Nude Flush. This does not become fully matte, even when it is dry, but I do love the colour, and I love wearing this over the Clarins lip liner that I mentioned in my January Favourites.
Moving on to some empties!
The *Oxygenetix Foundation is a breathable foundation suitable for use after cosmetic procedures. I really liked this foundation, it had good coverage without being too heavy on the skin.
I love this Liberty Candle in Joyful Jasmine, it smells amazing and was so affordable!
The Sephora Express Dry Shampoo was a gift from my boyfriend, because he knows how much I hate washing my hair, haha! It didn’t leave a white residue, and left my hair feel refreshed and light.
The Essential Mascara from Kevyn Aucoin isn’t finished, but the spoolie has gone all wonky, so it has got to go! For some reason the bristles seem to be stuck together, which is weird because I hardly used it!
Lastly, the essence Keep it Perfect Makeup Fixing Spray didn’t really extend the wear time of my makeup, and had quite a big spraying radius, definitely not the best I have tried.
Thanks for reading ladies! Share your favourites with me below!

The Kevin Acoyn mascara sounds really good I’ve read a few reviews on it now. I completely agree with the essence spray thOugh!
I was really disappointed by the essence Spray!
I’ve never tried a Mac mascara before!
I love love love the maybelline vivid liquid lipsticks! I don’t have the shade that you have so I’m definitely gonna be adding it to my collection x
The mascara sounds fab and you got through so many empties – well done 🙂
It is, and who knew it had two uses! I am really proud of myself!
These are all fab products! x
I love the sounds of that mascara! It’s so clever to be able to get two different looks from the same product! x
Yip, and I didn’t even know, hahahahha!
Love these photographs they’re wonderful! I might try that dry shampoo, the bastile one makes my head SUPER itchy!
Much love, Caitylis x x

I need to try that dry shampoo!
I really enjoyed using it!
I’m really eager to try a mac mascara!! x
This is the only one I have tried, but I really like the thin version!
I’d love to try that Sephora dry shampoo normally use batiste but it’s not as good at the moment.
It was a great one, no residue and no irritation!

They are really lovely Emma!
I really couldn’t get the mascara to work for me but I’m so glad it works well for you! x
The thin side definitely impressed me! The thick side was pretty average.
I might have to see if I can hunt down a MAC mascara because I LOVE bold lashes. I wear barely-there make up except for mascara. I looooove to layer it, so this would be a time/life saver for me. I also might have to see if I can hunt down some dry shampoo. I feel like I finally have a lifestyle that is well-suited for it. #mumlife

This is my first MAC mascara, and the thin side definitely impressed me. Oh yes, dry shampoo is a must!
Secret Admirer is such a beautiful colour!! Such a shame it’s not available anymore as that’s stunning x
It is stunning Gemma. I hope they bring it out again soon.
Ooo Ive been looking for a new mascara and I really like MAC formula xx
This one is great, but definitely the thinner version!
The Maybelline shade looks so perfect and I know I would enjoy using that one xxx
It’s gorgeous. I really love the shade!
Ok so I need the Sephora dry shampoo. I use batiste and it’s good but my hair looks and feels like I’ve used it and that totally defeats the point!
This is invisible! I also love ones that are for brunettes specifically.
That mascara looks so good! I have been meaning to try it too, I love MAC mascaras now, definitely the first ones I go for! 🙂
