Seeing as we all tend to over-spend a bit over the festive season, between holidays, entertaining and gifts, it is not surprising that when January comes around, extra money is not so easy to come by. So, today I will be sharing a Budget Beauty Edit with you, so you can still get your beauty fix, without breaking the bank. All of the products mentioned below are less than R200 and are pretty fantastic if you ask me!
essence Fresh and Fit Awake Makeup- I am really enjoying this foundation! It is light and fresh, and leaves my skin looking dewy and healthy. It offers medium coverage, and sits well on my dehydrated skin without looking cakey or clinging to fine lines. I just wish the shade range was better, I have Fresh Sun Beige which is the darkest shade, it works, but it does lean a bit pink, whereas I need a more yellow undertone, but with a light dusting of bronzer I can warm it up. But, offering only four shades, with the darkest one being NC30-35 is quite disappointing.
Woolworths Face Make-Up Finishing Spray- I love the gentle cucumber/aloe scent of this spray! It isn’t drying on my skin, leaves my skin looking dewy, and although it isn’t the most long lasting setting spray it does a good job of increasing the longevity of my makeup.
Swatches from Top-Bottom:
Palladio Liquid Concealer Honey- On its own, this concealer doesn’t cover my dark under eye circles, but when paired with a corrector, it does such a great job! And because it is so thin and light, it doesn’t crease!
LA Girl Pro Conceal Peach Corrector- The LA Girl Pro Conceal range is not hyped for no reason. The coverage of this is excellent, and I love the shade, it disguises my dark circles perfectly.
Colourpop Super Shock Cheek in Never Been Kissed- The formula of this blush is amazing, a cream to powder that blends well and lasts long. The pigmentation is fantastic, and look at that lovely peach shade!
Catrice Sun Lover Glow Bronzing Powder in Sun-kissed Bronze- I love a luminizing bronze shade, it warms up the face so well, and keeps the Summer glow going all year round! This bronzer is a bit more glowy than what I usually like, but I really like it for Summer.
LA Girl Strobelite Strobing Powder 50 Watt- This champagne gold highlighter is absolutely beautiful. It is pure metallic, with not a glitter particle in sight!
Colourpop Creme Gel Liner in Swerve- I love how smooth and pigmented this liner is. No dragging, no pulling, and most importantly no smudging!
NYX Intense Butter Gloss in Orangesicle- I love me an orange lip, and this gloss is amazing! It is so pigmented! Since it is a gloss it isn’t as long lasting as a liquid lipstick, but I love this bright shade for warm Summer days.
Maybelline Master Fix Setting + Perfecting Loose Powder- I was a bit worried that this translucent powder would leave me looking a bit ashy, but luckily it does no such thing! It sets concealer well, and reduces the shine on my forehead and cheeks too, without leaving any white cast.
NYX Micro Brow Pencil in Black- The Stila Stay All Day Precision Glide Brow Pencil is my go-to brow pencil, but this one competes quite well. Although it is black, it isn’t too dark, and has a nice cool tone that suits my brows perfectly. It has a spoolie on the one end to brush brows out, this is one I will be using often!
Catrice Lash Extension Mascara- This mascara really lengthens and seperates my lashes, and it doesn’t clump or flake. Although I much prefer a plastic spoolie, as opposed to a bristle one like this, this one does a good job at lengthening and seperating each individual lash.
What are your favourite Budget Makeup Picks?
Tried all the NYX lip products and I am such a fan. This year I’m aiming to finally try Colourpop! x
