Wow, how late are my April First Impressions??? Let’s just whizz through, shall we?
First up, a couple of mini-products from *Kalahari. The Activated Charcoal Mask is okay, it didn’t dry out my skin. The Lipid Plus Recovery is amazing, as a foot balm, but is way too rich for my face, and I don’t know how it would work for anyone. The Ultra Rich Complex, again, quite rich, and I have been using it as a foot cream. I wasn’t overly impressed with this brand. I will finish all of the products, but this is not a brand I would rush out to buy.
Next up I have the *Elizabeth Arden Prevage Progressive Renewal Treatment. This nightly peel contains PHA and AHA to refine and resurface the skin for radiant, glowing skin. It also contains Idebenone an antioxidant to protect the skin from free radicals and environmental aggressors. There are four ampoules, each lasting about a week, with each phase increasing in strength, I am currently starting the fourth. It doesn’t cause any irritation, but delivers, I can definitely notice a smoothness to my skin. I will have a full review up once I have complete all phases.
I have a few skincare minis that I have been trying out, most are pretty hyped products, so I was keen to give them a go. The*REN Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic is lovely, it is an effective acid toner that removes dull skin, reduces congestion and brightens the skin, I love it! The Dr Roebucks No Worries Moisturizer is a gentle, non-fussy moisturiser that offers surface hydration and doesn’t interfere with any actives. The Kora Organics Noni Glow Face Oil is a rich nourishing oil that doesn’t feel greasy, and a few drops mixed with foundation is amazing! The Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm is such a hyped product, so obviously I was excited to try it out. The scent is pleasant, green and herby and the balm feels so luxurious. It melts away makeup really well, doesn’t leave a residue behind when removed with a flannel and doesn’t irritate my eyes. Onto the product I was most excited to try, the Sisley Black Rose Cream Mask. This insanely priced mask is often raved about, so I was eager to try it out and see what the fuss is about. In short, it makes my skin look healthy and plump, I leave it on overnight for best results and wake up looking refreshed. The Skin Laundry Gentle Foaming Face Wash is a gentle but effective face wash that I am loving, it leaves my skin so clean, but without stripping it. The Saturday Skin rub-a-dub Refining Peel Gel is a gommage peel that works well, but nothing different from any others I have tried. Lastly, Herbivore Lapis Facial Oil hydrates and clarifies, and when my skin is being naughty, a few drops of this soothes and calms it down.
Next up I have a few skincare items from tarte. I love the Deep Dive Cleansing Gel, it is an effective, non-drying gel cleanser. The drink of H2O hydrating boost moisturizer is a very light gel that is cooling and hydrating and feels so light on the skin. The Rainforest of the Sea 4 in 1 Marine Boosting Mist is a favourite, it hydrates and refreshes the skin and sets makeup. I was quite excited to try the Frxxxtion Stick exfoliating cleanser, but wow it is gritty! I don’t think this is a cleanser at all, it should definitely be named a scrub! The Tarteguard 30 has the most amazing scent, like the Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea Salt, I just wish it had a higher spf, the texture isn’t too bad either. Lastly, the Quench Hydrating Primer has really helped me hide my dehydrated skin recently.
The Oils of Life range from The Body Shop is a rich but non-greasy, nourishing range that I am loving in this cooler drier weather. My favourite products are the Intensely Revitalising Cream and Facial Oil as well as the Sleeping Cream. The range contains Black Cumin seed, Camelia seed and Rosehip seed oils, known for its hydrating, revitalising and radiance-boosting properties. I will have a full review up soon.
This Lush Relax Set is absolutely dreamy! Twilight smells heavenly, Dream Cream is gentle and hydrating, Butterball Bath Bomb left my skin baby soft and A French Kiss Bubble Bar helps to relax and calm the mind and body.
I have also been using the Vanilla Chai Range from The Body Shop, and wow the scent is so warm and sweet and comforting. I am loving it! Although the candle pools, the scent makes up for it. The Shower Gel is my favourite product though, as I find the cream isn’t as thick and hydrating as I like.
Thanks for reading my rather late April First Impressions, anything pique your interest?
