Let’s just leave all of the pleasantries aside today, because I am super late with my April Beauty Favourites, and I still have my First Impressions to post!
I am really loving the warm, comforting scent of The Body Shop Vanilla Chai Shower Gel. It is also creamy and doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry or stripped.
I love acids for my skin. Anything that claims to resurface and brighten my skin has my attention, and the *Elizabeth Arden Prevage Progressive Renewal Treatment claims and delivers. It contains PHA and AHA to refine and resurface the skin for radiant, glowing skin. It also contains Idebenone an antioxidant to protect the skin from free radicals and environmental aggressors. It doesn’t cause any irritation, but I can definitely notice a smoothness to my skin. I am halfway through phase 3, and will have a full review up once I have completed the course.
I have been doing a bit of a makeup declutter recently, and trying to reach for products that I have forgotten about, and if I don’t love them, I add them to my blog sale.
A foundation that I loved, and forgot about is the L.O.V Evenelixir Serum Foundation in Honey-moon, the coverage is medium without feeling too thick or heavy, and the finish is dewy but long lasting.
One of my favourite blush formulas is Clinique Cheek Pop, and the shade Ginger Pop is such a stunning shade that I have neglected for a while, and I am so glad I pulled it out again. It leaves my skin with a gorgeous flush, without emphasising texture.
Lastly I have the essence Sheer Lipbalm in Pretty You, a lovely moisturising formula with the perfect long lasting tint.
And now for some Empties:
Theranaka Desert Rose Diffuser*- I really loved this diffuser, the scent is amazing, and it lasted about five months, which isn’t bad. I would repurchase.
Milk Solutions Softening Foot Lotion*- I liked this foot lotion, although it isn’t as thick as I usually like, I would probably repurchase.
Kings & Queens Caspar Myrrh Candle- This scent is so spicy and warm, and the candle burns pretty well, I love it! I would have repurchased if this brand was still available in SA!
Siberia Fir Scented Candle– I adore this scent, and how the candle burns, and how affordable it is, I would definitely repurchase! I have even bought the diffuser in the same scent.
First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser- I like this cleanser, it is gentle but still does a great job, but I don’t think I would repurchase.
The Body Shop Polynesian Island Tiare Body Cream- I love this scent so much, but I didn’t find this cream to be that hydrating. Unfortunately the range has been discontinued, so I can’t even repurchase.
Elizabeth Arden Sun Defense SPF 50*- At first I wasn’t sure about this spf, but I actually love the rich texture, as it absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy, I would repurchase.
Murad Retinol Youth Renewal Serum– I like this serum, but I wouldn’t repurchase, as I feel there are better strengths available at a more affordable price.
Murad Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisturiser– I really love the feel and effect of this moisturiser, and if it wasn’t so expensive I would repurchase!
Elizabeth Arden Prevage Progressive Renewal Treatment*– I am currently on phase 3 of this, and I love it. I assume there is a waiting period before being able to start a new treatment system, but I would repurchase this.
Hourglass Caution Mascara– I hated this, I don’t know if I got a dud, but the formula is wet and clumpy and for the price, I expected more.
The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA– I adore this moisturiser, it is just a great option for surface moisturiser and doesn’t interfere with any actives. I would definitely repurchase.
Pure Beginnings Eco Roll On Monsoon*- I had previously bought this in the other scent, and I really like this range. It doesn’t keep me completely dry, but I like that it doesn’t irritate my sensitive underarms, except after exfoliating, DO NOT DO THIS! I would repurchase.
Catrice Made to Stay Inside Eye Kohl Kajal- I enjoyed using this liner, as it does not smudge at all, and it is cheap! I would repurchase this.
Catrice Glam & Doll Mascara*– I love love love this mascara, and will definitely repurchase.
