The Skincare Benefits of Vitamin C + Dermaceutic Tri Vita C30

Today I will be sharing the Skincare Benefits of Vitamin C with you, as well as my thoughts on the Dermaceutic Tri Vita C30.

Skincare Benefits of Vitamin C

Vitamin C has a wide range of skincare benefits, but below are the top three:

SUN AND FREE RADICAL PROTECTION

Vitamin C is an anti-oxidant and protects the skin against free radicals from the sun and pollution, which includes cigarette smoke. It helps to protect and repair the skin from the toxins it is exposed to. It also intensifies the protection of sunscreen.

COLLAGEN PRODUCTION

Vitamin C assists in the production of collagen. Collagen gives skin that plump youthful look, by reducing fine lines and sagging skin.

UNEVENNESS/SCARRING

Vitamin C can help fade skin discolorations and scars as well as even the skin tone. It also helps the skin repair itself by encouraging cell renewal. In addition it helps create more elastin to prevent the loss of elasticiy in the skin and assist with moisture retention, giving the skin a smoother more even look.

Dermaceutic Tri Vita C30

Unfortunately all Vitamin C products aren’t as effective as they claim to be, mostly because of the unstable nature of topical Vitamin C. So look out for Ascorbic or L-Ascorbic Acid as close to the top of the list of ingredients. The higher up an ingredient is, the more of that ingredient is present in the product.

Skincare Benefits of Vitamin C

*Dermaceutic Tri Vita C30 has the highest concentration of Vitamin C currently available on the market. It is very potent in its efficacy, and that is evident in the strong vitamin c scent. Just one pump is all I need for my entire face, and I only use it in the morning every second or third day, because it is so active. Over-use will result in too much activity on the skin which may lead to a breakout, so its potency should definitely not be underestimated. It is a serum, so it should be used under moisturiser and sunscreen.

Topical Vitamin C that actually works is a rare commodity since it can be quite unstable as I mentioned above, but thanks to this combination of active ingredients as well as the air tight packaging, this product is a cut above the rest. If you are concerned about premature aging, uneven skin tone, scarring, pigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles and dullness then your skin will benefit from incorporating a good Vitamin C Serum into your routine. Also, after skin treatments such as a face peel, a Vitamin C Serum is recommended to help protect and treat the new skin. I have been using this religiously after my Dermaceutic Cosmo Peel.

The Dermaceutic Tri Vita C30 is R1596, and you can find a list of the stockists here.

P.S. I have had two Dermaceutic Cosmo Peels at Pure Aesthetics so far, and my skin has never looked better. My acne-scarring has definitely been reduced and my skin texture has improved significantly. My skin looks healthier and more radiant, and for one week of a peeling face, I would say it is definitely worth it! I only bought two peels, because I wanted to see the results, but after the recommended two month break, I will definitely be back for more!

Is it also suitable for acne-prone skin that suffers from hyperpigmentation?

I would suggest asking a dermatologist or stockist, alternatively Dermaceutic themselves or Dermastore. It is a very active product, and can irritate acne prone skin. Vitamin C is great for Hyperpigmentation, so you could look at gentler options too.

I’ve been eyeing this serum for a while now.
If you have to buy it again or choose between having peels/facials more often, what would you say gives the best results? xx

Not an easy question at all! If I had to choose I would choose a course of peels because it gives quicker results. But it is important to follow a peel with a good routine since you have revealed new skin and spf!

Thanks Nina. It is really expensive, but expected since it is the most potent on the market. Oh wow, I’ll check that out. Thanks Nina!
