I absolutely cannot wait for this year to end, it really has been tough. But the end is near! I am so delayed with my October First Impressions, but better late than never right?
I absolutely love mini beauty products! And is there anything better than Hourglass minis? I am loving the Ambient Light Correcting Primer, the Lip Stylo in Girl, the Veil Mineral Primer and the Veil Translucent Setting Powder. The Lipstick in Icon and Foundation Stick are okay. The Film Noir Mascara in Onyx is a mess, and I don’t know if it is just mine, or if the formula is just terrible.
I am so grateful for Elizabeth Arden, they really do spoil me! Their latest fragrance, *My Fifth Avenue is a sophisticated floral scent. With fresh notes of Mandarin and Jasmine and warm notes of Wood and Musk, this fragrance is young at heart with an air of sophistication. The matching body cream smells just as good, and ensures the fragrance lasts even longer. This set would make an amazing gift for any woman over thirty.
I have been trying a few new nude lipsticks and new brow products recently too.
I absolutely love the formula and shades of Jeffree Star Androgyny, MAC Whirl, Caked Low Key, and Gerard Cosmetics 1995. I like the formula of Colourpop and MAC Retro Matte, but the shades Name Drop and So Me are not my favourite.
Onto brows, my beloved NYX Micro Brow finished recently, as did my Stila before that, so I thought I would take the chance to try a few new products and see how they do. I really like the LA Girl option, and for the price it is a clear winner! I am still deciding on the Rimmel Brow Shake and Maybelline Tattoo Brow. The NYX one is good, although the highlighter side is a waste, and I would have preferred a spoolie. I am loving the L’Oreal Brow Artist Plumper!
Filorga has fast become one of my favourite skincare brands, and I am finding myself buying more and more from them. I received the *Flash-Nude Fluid Foundation and *Time-Flash Express Smoothing Active Primer, and I bought the Skin-Absolute Day. I am loving the foundation, at first I thought it would be too light for me, but it isn’t too bad and is easily warmed up with bronzer. It provides light coverage but still perfects the skin, and is buildable. The primer blurs and perfects the skin. The day cream is quite active, and I am quite happy with it.
As you may know I have been going for quite a few face treatments, and after those, all I need is something to calm and soothe my skin. So, I picked up a few products to try out. The Avene Tolerance Cleansing Lotion removes makeup and dirt well and is kind and gentle to the skin. The Filorga Universal Repair Care has such a lovely light texture, but hydrates, heals and calms my skin. The texture of both the Bioderma Cicabio and SVR Topialyse are velvety. They are both richer than Filorga, but work just as well at calming the skin,
We waited ages for the Physician’s Formula Butter Range to finally land in SA, and I can say they are worth it. They are soft and buttery and highly pigmented. I was a bit disappointed in the Butter Highlighter though, as I expected it to be more finely milled and less shimmery.
My sensitive underarms have been loving The Body Shop’s Aloe Deodorant. It does not burn or irritate the skin, and is actually quite soothing. Lastly, how cute is this *Tangle Teezer, this is the best invention ever for wet hair! I love that it comes in a little compact too, so the bristles don’t get damaged.
Thanks for reading ladies! Is there anything you would like posts on first? I know I have not been posting much though, haha!
