Hi Ladies
Who knew there was a professional yet affordable hair care brand out there?
These days if you want to use professional hair care products (you know the ones that are only sold in salons) you need to spend at least R600 and that is only for a shampoo and conditioner, never mind all the other extras like masks, oils and styling products. This makes quality hair care more of a luxury than a reality for most people. Or so I thought…
I was recently introduced to MATRIX Total Results which offers professional, high-performance formulas at an affordable price, in fact it is the most affordable professional brand on the market.
The packaging as you can see above is simple, clean and colour-coded. The name of the product simply describes the desired result, there is no difficult, hard to pronounce French name that you need to enter into Google Translate.
I was sent the MATRIX Total Results Mega Sleek Range, which is specially formulated for frizz-prone hair. The range consists of a Shampoo, Conditioner, Blow Down Cream, Iron Smoother and Mega Varnish.
Most of the ranges include a Shampoo, Conditioner and a Miracle Styler. A Miracle Styler is a product that not only helps style your hair, but also gives your hair an amazing treatment that delivers instant noticeable results.
The Mega Sleek Range is formulated to control rebellious, unruly hair and instead create sleek, straight hair.
I was sent the Mega Sleek Shampoo, Conditioner, Mega Varnish and Blow Down Cream. Although the range is formulated to create sleek, straight hair, I used it for one reason- Frizz Control. I am not a huge fan of poker straight hair, but I am a fan of frizz-free natural waves. My hair is naturally wavy, and frizzes up at any sign of humidity, so mission of the day- Eliminate Frizz! But, if you do want poker straight sleek hair this range will deliver that too, just use some heat styling tools. The range has a very fresh and invigorating scent, which is refreshing since I expected a rich, nutty scent.
Mega Sleek Shampoo: The shampoo with shea butter cleanses well without stripping my hair. It is a rich shampoo without being greasy.
Mega Sleek Conditioner: The conditioner also formulated with shea butter has quite a thick consistency, but rinses out easily and doesn’t leave that dreaded build-up in my hair.
Mega Sleek Mega Varnish: I cannot even explain my love for this product. It can be used on damp or dry hair. It absorbs instantly and leaves hair so so soft without looking greasy or oily. It helps with frizz and fly-aways, and it smells amazing!
Mega Sleek Blow Down Cream: This styling cream with shea butter protects hair from heat while smoothing hair and controlling frizz. I am the laziest person when it comes to my hair, yes I take care of it, I use masks, serums, etc, but when it comes to styling I cannot! Most styling products leave a crunchy feeling if they are not used with heat tools, but this one just leaves my hair soft and frizz-free.
So, overall I love this range!
I love that it gives my hair a soft matte but healthy look, not that super shiny bordering on oily look.
I love that my hair is sleek, smooth and frizz free without feeling weighed down and greasy.
I love the refreshing scent.
Mostly, I love that MATRIX total results combines Salon Quality Professional Haircare with affordability.

The voicemail was not very clear but I am sure she said its not a L’Oreal product – I must try to google it. Will try through Retail Box
It is a L’Oréal product though. I have no clue. Yip the service from Retail Box is amazing!
Reonette, did the people from MATRIX call you?
No, not yet 🙂
They should have by now 🙂
No Azraa – I also email Retail Box through their website’s “contact us” . But still nothing – not good for business for Matrix / Retail Box. 🙁
Oh gosh that’s annoying!
No eye cream yet. Got Avon Clinical Anew eye cream in the meantime.
I sent an email through the Matrix “contact us” enquiring but they could not assist – something about Matrix not a L’Oreal product (?)
What does that even mean! Maybe try contact them through Facebook or Twitter? Or maybe just through Retail Box. I will try contact them though in the meantime.
I am actually on the hunt(phoning salons this morning) for a texturising cream / wax / paste to “piece” and texturise short hair without the sticky feel and oily/ wet look.
I will take a look at their products.
Thank you for sharing …… its almost like you knew what I want – ?
Haha, I am glad I was of some help Reonette. I hope you manage to find your hair product, maybe look for a matte styling clay? Did you manage to find the eye cream?
