Hi Ladies
I recently attended a L’Oreal Launch where we got to hear all about the fabulous new products landing on our shores in the next few months, and believe me they are fabulous!
I have already seen a couple of these products in store, and I am sure the rest will be on the shelf soon.
Let’s start with the makeup products, which all happen to be eye products. I haven’t seen any of these in stores yet, but keep your eyes peeled and sculpted… See what I did there?
The False Lash Wings Sculpt Mascara has a pretty weird looking brush, unlike any other mascara. The best way to use this is to push it against the base of your lashes and then pull upwards, which creates a tightline, no need to wiggle. The effect is unreal, tightlined, voluminous, feathery, and the mascara is so pigmented, it actually looks like I am wearing fake lashes. I love it! One word of caution, remove the excess on the brush before applying to your lashes, or you could go the Snookie route.
Next up is the Brow Artist Sculpt in Blonde and Brunette. This innovative brow product allows you to shape, fill as well as fix your brows in place. I must admit this took a bit of getting used to, I ended up with brow gel all over my face the first time I tried it but then I perfected it. So, you use the felt tip to fill in and shape your brows, and then the brush to brush through and fix it all in place as you can see in the picture below. I have been using the brunette one often and now that I have the hang of it I really like it. Because I have some gaps in my brows this works perfectly to fill and then fix it all in it’s place.
There is also another new brow product called the Brow Artist Maker which I need to get my hands on. It has a pencil on the one side and on the other a tiny kabuki brush to brush up your brows and make them all fluffy and natural looking.
Lastly, we have the Super Liner Black ‘N’ Sculpt, an intense-black smudge-free liner, with a little bobble at the end. At first I thought there was No Way that this liner was gonna give me a thin sleek line with that bobble on the end… Surprise Surprise I was wrong… The shape of the tip allows me to line my lids as I would with a pencil, straight on, no need to hold the liner at a slant and all that jazz. This liner was designed to line your eyes from all directions, pretty cool isn’t it? And yes, it still gives a thin line.
Now, moving on to skincare
These two new products form part of the Extraordinary Oil Family, along with the original Extraordinary Oil and the Nourishing Oil Cream. I have seen that there is also an Extraordinary Cleansing Oil as part of the international range, and I do hope that comes to South Africa soon.
I have been using The Extraordinary Oil Radiance Cream Mask (R249.95) a couple of times a week as an overnight mask and my skin really laps it up. It is rich without being greasy and leaves my skin plump and hydrated by morning. The Rebalancing Extraordinary Facial Oil (R249.95) was specially developed for combination to oily skin and helps to support the skin’s moisture balance without the added greasiness. It is a dry oil that absorbs quickly and gives skin a more refined look. Both products are suitable for all ages.
Did you know that L’Oreal is the number 1 anti-ageing brand in South Africa, and the number 2 female face-care brand in South Africa?
There are also two new additions to the Revitalift Filler Renew Range, an eye cream and a night cream. This range is suited for ages 40-60, so I passed these onto my mom, although I must admit I wanted the eye cream for myself after trying it out. The night cream is formulated with Hyaluronic Acid to moisturise and plump the skin and Fibroxyl to firm, it is velvety soft and rich without being greasy. The eye cream contains the highest concentration of Hyaluronic Acid ever formulated in a L’Oreal Paris eye cream, impressed yet? The curved applicator design is perfect for massaging the under-eye area and cooling tired eyes.
There are also some updates to the Skin Perfection Range. I really like this range, I just wish we also got the Skin Perfection Magic Touch Instant Blur in South Africa. But, I could write a whole list on what Beauty Products I wish we had in South Africa, oh wait, I already did that.
The two additions are the Skin Perfection Velvety-Soft Toner and the Micellar Water. I myself am not a toner fan, I double cleanse, so I don’t really see the point. Micellar Water on the other hand, I love! I use it to remove makeup before using my cleanser, and I also use it after cleansing to make sure every last bit is gone. It is awesome to see more brands adding Micellar Water to their offerings, and this L’Oreal one ticks all of the boxes. It removes waterproof mascara like a dream, it removes lip stains like nobody’s business and waterproof tinted sunblock doesn’t stand a chance.
Unfortunately the Micellar Gel is not going to be available in South Africa for now, it was just given to us at the launch, and I had to include it because it is the best eye makeup remover I have used in a while!
Lastly there are some new hair launches to look out for.
The Studio Pro styling line consists of hairspray, mousse and smoothing cream and allows you to try a new look every day. Shake up your style, change your routine and unleash your creativity. There are four options to choose from:
Lock It Hairsprays (Strong, Extra Strong and Ultra Strong) give you strong hold without that crispy crunchy feeling.
Sleek It Smoothing Cream gives you heat protection and a poker straight finish.
Boost It Hairspray and Mousse gives you instant volume with extra strong hold.
Curve It Mousse gives you curl definition with extra strong hold.
The L’Oreal Elvive Colour Protect 60 Second Saviour is amazing, I wish there was an Extraordinary Oil 60 Second Saviour!
See anything you like?

Always good to have someone explain some of the new goodies so that we know what to look out for 🙂
If I had to pick: It would be the Extraordinary Oil Mask and Facial Oil. The brow artist sculpt looks interesting as well as the brow artist maker.
Thanks for the updates 🙂
Pleasure Carmen. The mask and oil are amazing, I am loving them! I think the brow artist sculpt is a hit or miss, but personally I love it.
Really exciting launches for L’oreal! The eye liner definitely catches my eye… seems fool proof to lining your eyes like an expert lol. Want to try it when its here in durbs! xo
It’s pretty amazing! And I love not having to slant and apply.
Thanks for sharing all this! –Hanna Lei
