I know, I know, once again I am late! Better late that never, right, here are my February First Impressions. Starting with the products that already have reviews…
I put together a Valentine’s Gift Guide last month, and featured some amazing products! You can read my full post, but a few standout products to mention are the Beauty Factory Diffuser, Lush *Goddess, Lush *Tender Is The Night, Duo Calm by Fusion Labs, Theravine *Massage Candle, REN Gylocalactic Face Mask, Filorga *NCEF Night Mask and the Morlage & York *Soaps.
I tried some skincare minis from Philosophy, and I wasn’t entirely blown away. I was underwhelmed by The Microdelivery Detoxifying Oxygen Peel, I expected more bubbling, but my skin did look clearer after use. The Purity Range was pleasant to use, I really like the Cleanser and Ultra-light Moisturiser, but found the Eye Gel a bit meh. I really like that The Ultimate Miracle Worker Cream has spf 30, and still feels light and comfortable. The Renewed Hope in a Jar Range is probably my favourite, I enjoyed the moisturisers quite a lot. I love The Skin Tint, but found it a bit weird that it says it can be used alone on clean skin, but also says that it doesn’t offer enough spf.
I also tried a few products from Skin Food Apothecary, some are hits, and some definite misses. Let’s start with the misses. The Honey Melt scent is terrible, it smells like a combination of honey and apple cider vinegar, and is meant to be used as a morning cleanser, but the smell makes me nauseous. The Face Gommage is way too rough and scrubby for my face, but I will definitely use it on my body. I have been enjoying the Cleansing Melt as a first cleanse, it is gentle and does a good job of removing makeup. Re-Bounce is an overnight hydrating mask, but it makes my skin feel quite tight when applied, but when I wake up the next morning my skin looks plump and hydrated. Lastly, the Ferulic Serum is a very light watery serum that has a faint nutty scent that is pleasant to use.
My last few skincare items are from Clicks. I like the light but hydrating Aquareva from Noreva. I find the Avene Tolerance Emulsion quite thick, but it works well when my skin is sensitive and reactive. Also from Avene, I am pleasantly surprised that the Hydrance Optimale Riche Perfector isn’t too light for my skin tone, although it is a bit pink, but works well for those days where I need a little bit of coverage and some spf protection, but nothing too major.
Moving onto makeup, I have a few items from Jouer. I will have full a full review and swatches of these products up soon. The Essential High Coverage Foundation in Fawn gives way too much coverage for me, and I am not a fan at all. The Powder Highlighter in Tan Lines is a bit too dark for me, but the texture is wonderful. Both of these products have been added to my Blog Sale. I am quite enjoying the Lip Creme in French Kiss and Tawny Rose.
Next up I have a few items from Burberry. The Cat Lashes Mascara is amazing, I love the brush! The formula is a bit wet, but the brush makes it for me. Fresh Glow is amazing, and I would love to have the full size. An illuminating primer that feels light and gives skin a lit from within glow. I found My Burberry Blush a bit young for me and My Burberry Black wasn’t to my taste at all!
I went to the essence Insta Perfect Launch a while back and received a few *goodies to try out. I am loving the foundation, but it definitely doesn’t have a Strong Matte effect, which is why I love it. The Makeup Drops work well to adjust foundations without changing the texture or feel. I love adjusting drops, especially when my shade differs in Summer and Winter. I love the Cover Stick, and featured it in my Favourites. I find the Mousse a bit too thick, and unfortunately the shades I have are a bit too dark for me. I have heard amazing things about the Lash Princess Mascara and I am loving it too! The Mattifying Compact Powder definitely mattifies the skin without making it look flat or dry. The Gloss is a perfect nude shade, and the Super Beauty Sponge works quite well, and the unusual shape surprisingly does a good job.
Lastly I have been using the Kerastase Elixir Ultime Range, and I love everything about it. The scent, how soft it makes my hair and the packaging! The Oil is my favourite.
Thanks for reading!
