Dull skin and pigmentation are two things I do not want to have to deal with, but unfortunately no matter how diligent I am about sunblock, my skin has other plans. Hyper-pigmentation runs in my family and as I get older I am beginning to see a few pigmentation spots on my nose and cheeks. So, I thought now was the perfect time to put together a few products that target pigmentation and promote brighter skin. So here is A Brightening Skincare Edit.
The *Clarins Brightening Body Veil is a relatively new product that was launched as as addition to the Clarins Bright Plus Range. I love how moisturising it is, it leaves my skin silky soft. It also has SPF protection, which is amazing when you are trying to get ahead of pigmentation!
The *Vichy ProEven Brightening Cleansing Foam is a foaming cleanser enriched with Ceramide Bright, Vitamin C and LHA. It gives skin a really good clean, as most foaming cleansers do, however if you have sensitive or dry skin, it may be too drying, but I love it! It also gently exfoliates, unclogging pores and removing dead skin cells, thanks to LHA, a derivative of Salicylic Acid. All of this for a brighter more even skin tone.
I apply the MAC Prep + Prime Skin Brightening Serum after cleansing and before moisturising, and my skin instantly looks brighter, plumper and more even. Enriched with natural antioxidants to strengthen the skin against UV-related damage and Charged Water to ensure deep, long-lasting hydration. I am quite surprised at this MAC product, they’re not just good for makeup it seems!
I then apply the *Vichy ProEven Advanced Daily Dark Spot Corrector, formulated with soothing thermal spa water and a blend of PhE-resorcinol, LHA and iridescent pearls. I love the packaging, and I love the light apricot scent. I also love the texture, it is light and absorbs instantly. My skin definitely looks brighter and more even. I haven’t seen a major difference in the few pigmentation spots I have, but these things take time.
And most importantly when trying to tackle pigmentation is sun protection! I like that both the Uriage Depiderm SPF 50 and the Bioderma Photoderm Spot 50 target dark spots and damaged skin while protecting against UVA and UVB rays. I do find the Uriage pills a bit if I use too much, but both are great picks for high sun protection with an added bonus.
A bit of a pamper is always a good idea, especially if the products are geared towards radiance!
The Payot Detoxifying Radiance Mask is a creamy mask that cleans deep into the pores and on removal makes my skin look so healthy and radiant.
When I saw the Sephora Pearl Sleeping Mask, I knew I had to have it. I love sleeping masks, why not let a mask work overnight? They are so low maintenance and easy to use, with no messy removal either. This is a creamy gel mask that is applied before bed, and there is enough for 2-3 uses. It absorbs pretty well, so it won’t mess your pillow. When I woke up in the morning my skin was plump and so so bright and radiant! I bought a few different variations of these Sephora Sleeping Masks, and I am excited to try the rest!
Thanks for reading ladies! Do you have any go-to products for brighter, more even skin tone?
