Aaaahhh Autumn, to be honest the only thing I love about this season are the colours, I hate that it means Winter is coming, it is basically the prelude to me freezing! Speaking of Autumn colours, I thought I would put together A Shades of Autumn Beauty Edit, a collection of browns, deep purples and golden hues, reminiscent of fallen leaves.
Autumn Nail Shades…
First up we have the new *Morgan Taylor Matadora Fall 2018 Collection, with gorgeous rich tones, in navy, purple and reds, and a combination of shimmer and creme. This collection is also available in matching Gelish shades. Below we have, on the left, the deep purple creme in Danced and Sang-ria and on your right Mauve Your Feet a stunning mauve nude. Both of these apply amazingly well, are smooth, streak free, and fully opaque in two coats. Mauve Your Feet is definitely a shade I see on my finger nails this season and all your round! I love dark shades like this deep purple on my fingers as the weather gets cooler. I wish I could have picked up the purple in it when it the light hits.
Moving on to makeup…
To me nothing screams Autumn more than a golden highlight and a dark burgundy lip, which is exactly what I have pulled together here.
Swatches from top-bottom:
Urban Decay Vintage Vice Limited Edition Lipstick in Bruise is a gorgeous burgundy shade, perfect for the cooler weather. Even although it is described as a sheer finish it is actually quite pigmented. I love that it dries down to wearable stain, without leaving a wring around your lips as most darker colours do. It is also quite comfortable and hydrating to wear.
When a nude lip is preferred, I choose a darker matte shade for Autumn, and the NYX Lip Lingerie in Seduction is a perfect choice. It is a rich warm terracotta shade that lasts all day but is still comfortable to wear. I am a huge fan of the Lip Lingerie range, long lasting, comfortable, and has nudes for every possible tone.
OFRA Highlighter in You Dew You is a gorgeous champagne gold highlighter. It is warmer than the swatch shows, and gives a metallic sheen to the skin. It doesn’t emphasise texture, blends well, has a soft buttery texture and doesn’t have any chunky glitter pieces.
Lastly, the Laura Geller Baked Blush N Brighten in Tropic Hues is a pretty shimmery coral blush. Although it has a stunning gold shimmer through it, it doesn’t emphasise skin texture or leave me looking too shiny. This would work on most skin tones, and throughout the year, although I do love it to brighten my skin in the dreary cooler months.
See anything you like ladies? What is your favourite thing about Autumn?
