September First Impressions

As I mentioned in my previous post, I haven’t been feeling the greatest recently, but I am hoping that getting back into posting will help me feel a little bit better. I currently have about forty drafts of posts that have photos, but no words, so I need to get back into it, and of course I want to share everything with you all! Today I have my monthly wrap up, my September First Impressions, initial thoughts on all of the products I have been trying out.

I had a good mix of products this month, from skincare to fragrance, affordable to luxury!

I only have one bit of makeup from Catrice, so let’s start there. I am loving the HD Liquid Coverage Foundation, it is buildable and doesn’t emphasise the skin, the Strobing Brick is stunning too. The lipsticks are so beautifully matte, almost powdery, but not uncomfortable. The Lip Treatment is nice, but not extremely hydrating, but I do like the texture. I enjoy the Fixing Spray, and I like using the Serum Primer on days when my skin needs a pick me up. I will have a full review including swatches up soon.

New Catrice Makeup

Next up I have the gorgeous La Vie En Rose *Spring Collection from Jessica Cosmetics. This is such a pretty collection, perfect for Spring, and for wedding season too! I love the soft pastel shades. Some shades need two coats, while others need three, but it dries relatively quickly, so I don’t mind too much. It doesn’t beat the Jessica Phenom Range though!

I have a post on Luxury Home Fragrances for Spring that will be out soon, but oh my gosh I am obsessed with these! The *Crabtree & Evelyn Memories Made Candle is gorgeous, it has a fresh floral scent that carries through the room even when it is not lit! It burns so well, and I definitely want to get myself Home Comforts next. Next up I have the *Cowshed Grumpy Cow Uplifting Diffuser which has such a refreshing and happy citrus scent. At first I had this in my room, but the scent was actually filling up the room too much, so I moved it to the lounge. I have tried Moody Cow before, and really liked the scent, but now that I have tried Grumpy Cow, I have definitely found a favourite. Haha, see a pattern? Lastly, I have the Jo Malone Orange Blossom Candle that I got from my boyfriend for my birthday. I love the scent of orange blossom, so I adore this, it is sweet, but not too sweet, fresh and floral!

Luxury Home Fragrance

I received the *L’occitane Immortelle Reset Oil-In-Serum from Rubybox to review and I love how plump and hydrated it leaves my skin. My skin looks and feels more rested and healthy the next morning, and I love the little balls!

L'Occitane Serum

Next up I have some hydrating heroes that I have been loving! The *Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Replenishing HydraGel Complex is my current favourite day time moisturiser! It is so light but still hydrating, and the texture is just dreamy! The *Visible Difference Refining Moisture Cream Complex is what I reach for at night, when my skin needs something extra, it is hydrating and nourishing, but doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. The *Filorga Hydra-Hyal Serum has been my go-to serum. It is a lightweight gel, it feels a bit tacky when applied, but sinks in quickly, and helps to reduce my dehydration lines. It works well under moisturisers, and doesn’t pill. The Vichy Beautifying Cleansing Micellar Oil is applied to dry skin and massaged in, and when water is added it transforms into a milky cleanser, and doesn’t leave any residue. It is soft and gentle on the skin and eyes, and does a good job at removing makeup. The *Gatineau Aquamemory Moisture Replenish Eye Roll-on is cooling and soothing on the eye area. It hydrates the eye without leaving a sticky or oily feeling. The only thing I don’t like about this is the scent, I am not sure if I have a bad one, or if that is the scent, but I will gladly overlook that for how this makes my eye area feel! Lastly I have the Yves Rocher Intense Hydrating Mask. It is a cream-gel hydrating mask that leaves my skin looking supple and plump. I love that this isn’t greasy or oily, but is quite refreshing while still doing the job.

First Impressions Hydrating Skincare

Aaaahh Sunday Riley. I expect great results from this range given the price! I love Good Genes and Luna, especially when used together. I did expect a bit of a tingle though, which unfortunately I didn’t get. Ceramic Slip didn’t do much for me as a cleanser, I mean it is good, but so are others at a much more affordable price. I do really enjoy using the Blue Moon Cleansing Balm, but once again I think there are just as good balm cleansers out there, perhaps not as luxurious, but that will do the same job at less than half of the price. I am loving U.F.O, I use it when I feel a pimple coming along, or when my skin is feeling a bit clogged, and it does a stellar job!

First Impressions Sunday Riley

I think I am going to start describing scents as … in a bottle. What do you think about that? The *Elizabeth Arden Sunflowers Summer Air is Sunny Summer Happiness in a bottle and Green Tea Fig is Intrigue, Allure and Unusual Sophistication in a bottle. Green Tea Fig reminds me of those unusual scents from brands like Jo Malone and Atelier, only at a more affordable price. Both of these wore well on me for about five hours. I will have a full review up soon, but Woolworths currently has a 20% off, so if you are looking for a new scent, check them out there.

Elizabeth Arden Summer Fragrances

Lastly, the loveliness that is the now sadly discontinued Polynesian Island Tiare from The Body Shop. This is exotic island flowers in a bottle. Frangipani is my all time favourite flower, so I obviously adore this. The shower gel scent lingers after a shower, so layering the cream as well as the perfume means I get to smell like a floral island goddess! The Body Cream is not as hydrating as I would like, but will be fine for Summer. The perfume is gorgeous!

And those are my First Impressions, what would you like reviews on first?
