Ladies, it is time for another New Skincare on Trial post. This month is all about soothing and nourishing skincare for sensitive and irritated skin.
First up we have the *Elemis Smart Cleanse Micellar Water. This does a great job at removing makeup, including waterproof mascara. It doesn’t burn or irritate my eyes, and leaves my skin feeling soft and clean, and not stripped or dry.
Next up I have this Dr. Gobac Cleanser, it is a milky cleanser that leaves my skin clean but balanced. It works well as the second cleanse or as a morning cleanse, as it doesn’t remove makeup too well. It is nice and creamy, so it works well removed with a face cloth too.
A new mask on my shelf is the *REN Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask. I am a huge fan of REN Skincare, and especially the Evercalm range, which is suitable for sensitive skin. I have used the entire Evercalm range after chemical peels, and the redness and irritation was subdued immediately. This mask is soothing and nourishing, and leaves my skin feeling hydrated, supple, destressed and calm. It is particularly soothing after a hot day, when your skin is feeling sensitive due to sun exposure. The mask should be left on for 10-15 minutes, and then removed with a damp cloth.
I love using cloths to remove balm cleansers and masks, it gets rid of all of the excess product while giving the skin a gentle exfoliation. These super soft cloths from Human + Kind are so soft and fluffy, and don’t scratch at my skin and are perfect to use when the skin is sensitive or irritated.
Another product I have been using to hydrate and calm my skin is the *Hydrating Mango Face Balm from Theravine. This silky face balm melts into your skin when applied, and has a feeling similiar to a hydrating face oil. My skin feels supple, soothed, nourished and hydrated and I really wish I had known about this during winter when my face was at its most dehydrated and uncomfortable. This can be used alone at night, or over a serum, which is my favourite way to use it, since it seals the serum in and prevents moisture loss by protecting the skins barrier. I have also been mixing this with a crushed powder highlighter and applying it to the high points of my face, which gives the most gorgeous natural glow!
And lastly, you may have seen my review of The Body Shop Drops of Light Range, where I mistakenly forgot the Multi-Protection Essence. Well, since I have started using it I have barely stopped. I love how thin and liquidy the product is, it truly is an essence, and melts into the skin immediately. It isn’t greasy, sits well under makeup and doesn’t pill. I will be getting a lot of use out of this during this season! And if you don’t know, The Body Shop has a 3 for 2 special on everything until Christmas, so there is no better time than now to stock up!
Do you have any skincare recommendations for sensitive, irritated skin?
