Hourglass Makeup Review

Hourglass in the beauty world is a name that oozes luxury, but unfortunately it comes with a price to match! Luckily, we have mini sizes that are quite generous and can give a feel for the products, for a possible splurge later on. Also, I hardly ever finish makeup products, so minis are the perfect size for me to try a few luxe products without going broke.

I am loving the Ambient Light Correcting Primer in Mood Light, it gives skin such a lovely glowy look, and I am obsessed! Although I don’t wear primer much, the Veil Mineral Primer is the least primey primer I have tried, which I love. It has a very thin formula that perfects the skin, making it look more even, matte but not flat and plump. The Veil Translucent Setting Powder is another product that I am loving, and one that I think is worth the investment, especially because powders last forever! It sets makeup without making the skin look dry and cakey, has a slight blurring effect, giving skin an airbrushed finish and does not crease even under the eyes!

The Film Noir Mascara in Onyx is a big mess, I don’t know if I just got a dud, but the formula and the brush just don’t work for me at all. The formula is so thick and doesn’t coat the lashes well, and my spoolie was just werid. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hourglass Foundation Swatches Indian Skin

Swatches from Top-Bottom:

Hourglass Foundation Stick in Beige- I love the undertone of this foundation stick, it really works well on my skin. The shade is half a shade too dark for me, but it is workable. The foundation is creamy and blends well with medium, buildable coverage that looks and feels light on the skin. But, I don’t think it is anything out of this world, and there are equally good foundations at a much more affordable price.

Femme Rouge Velvet Creme Lipstick in Icon- A classic, deep red in a nice formula, creamy and rich, but still long lasting. I don’t wear red that often, but I like this.

Lip Stylo in Girl- A hydrating tinted balm with a glossy finish in the prettiest everyday nude. I really really like this, it is comfortable to wear while offering some colour too. I pair it with a lip liner or a brighter lipstick if I want to add a bit more colour.

I have such much Hourglass in my kit. I actually get on pretty well with the Film Noir as I quite like a clumpy mascara – their newer one in the gold packaging would probably be better for you x

I’ve read amazing things about their foundation stick but I’m too afraid that I’ll select the wrong shade as it’s so pricey.
