Almay Smart Shade Butter Kiss

Hi Ladies

Today I am reviewing the Almay Smart Shade Butter Kiss Lipsticks which I received a while ago.

There are 12 shades available, four per skin tone. Basically, you pick your skin tone between light, light/medium or medium. And then based on your skin tone you choose your shade, between berry, pink, nude or red. These four shades are expertly coordinated to suit each skin tone.

I received from L-R Red Light/Medium, Red Light, Pink Light/Medium and Pink Medium

So, what are my thoughts?

Firstly, these really are ultra-hydrating, they seem more like a lip butter than a lipstick.

Secondly, they smell amazing, like cocoa butter.

Thirdly, they apply more like an intensely tinted lip balm, the colour is more on the sheer side, yet it is still quite pigmented.

Lastly, although I like the idea of shades suited to your skin tone, don’t limit yourself, try them all in store, and find one that suits your unique self. My favourite is Red Light, the second one from the left, and I am far from a Light.

Overall I am really enjoying using these, they give a dash of colour and a bucket load of moisture, which is perfect for winter!

They retail for R110, although Dischem recently had a special where they were selling for R99, which might still be on.

Happy Shopping Ladies!
