The Summer Body Edit
Monday, 4 Dec 2017
Summer has just arrived, although the weather has been screaming summer for quite a while now, in between bursts of Autumn and Winter. So, what better way to welcome Summer than to focus on our bodies with a Summer Body Edit! Unfortunately the Winter cold brings with it the laziness of caring for our bodies, hidden behind layers of clothing, well at least that is the case for me. I have been trying out a few new products to get things back on track, so let’s get started!
The *Earthsap Citrus and Ginger Root Body Wash has a refreshing invigorating scent. It doesn’t dry out my skin, is proudly South African and eco-friendly!
My boyfriend bought me this Lush Whoosh Shower Jelly, which is actually my first product from the brand! At first I thought this was just going to get smooshed up when I used it, but it has held its shape. I prefer using this as a handwash, as opposed to in the shower. I just wet my hands, wobble this between them, and it lathers beautifully.
Ingrown hair, the worst part of hair removal, even worse than stubble! *Fino Soothe for Woman is designed to prevent ingrown hair and the itchiness and irritation it brings, without being harsh on the skin. This can be used after all types of hair removal. It has a very light creamy consistency, and didn’t burn or irritate my skin. It did tingle a bit under my arms, but I do have sensitive underarms, and I did use this immediately after shaving. I am quite happy with this product and have been using it consistently, it keeps my skin moisturised after shaving, and has prevented those pesky ingrowns!
Oh my gosh, the *Caribbean Tan Milk and Honey Body Butter smells amazing! I can’t stop smelling myself! It leaves my skin silky soft without being greasy, and right now this is my favourite body butter! It is much thinner and lighter than other body butters, and perfect for summer!
If you struggle with dry skin, but hate the feel of thick lotions, then you will love the *Gatineau Body Lotion with AHAs. It has a light milky texture, and is very runny, I didn’t actually think it would be moisturising enough, but to my surprise it does an amazing job! It also contains AHAs, so it gently exfoliates, and the little bumps on my arms seem to be better too! I think this is best described as a hydrating body milk!
I am loving the *O.P.I Pro Spa Protective Hand, Nail & Cuticle Cream. I am a hand cream obsessed person, and every time I wash my hands I need hand cream on them immediately! This offering from O.P.I is very hydrating, and has a hand butter sort of feel without being greasy! It has a fresh almost minty scent, which gives off a bit of a spa vibe!
The new *Schick Hydro Silk Disposable Razor has five blades, is moisturising, easy to hold and maneuver, comes with a cover, and is absolutely perfect for on the go! The blades also don’t wear down after one leg like some disposables, so I managed to shave everywhere I needed to with just one razor! This may even beat my normal razor, which is also by Schick, but isn’t disposable.
Lastly I have the *Schick Hydro Shave Gel. I usually just stick to conditioner, but this shave gel may have just turned me. It softens the hair and skin, and makes nicks and cuts virtually impossible since the blade just glides over without tugging on any skin.
