Sorbet X Dermalogica Ionactive Power Treatment Review
Tuesday, 18 Oct 2016
I was recently invited to Sorbet at Greenstone Shopping Centre to experience a Dermalogica Ionactive Facial.
What is an Ionactive Treatment? “The IonActive Power Treatment combines thermal activity and the latest treatment-room technology to optimize product penetration for dramatically-improved skin. With immediate visible results I might add! The IonActive Power Treatment allows your skin to receive the benefits of an intensified treatment in only 45 minutes, with no discomfort.”
My treatment started with a Face Mapping skin analysis to determine my skin type and concerns, which is then used to choose the active concentrates needed to address those concerns. There are four key actives available; Retinol for ageing, Niacinamide for acne, Hyaluronic Acid for dehydration and Oligopeptide for hyperpigmentation. Each treatment centers around a Key Active, and the price of the treatment is dependant on the active, ranging from R495 to R590 per treatment. The key active concentrate chosen for me was Niacinamide for my clogged pores.
The chosen key active concentrate is applied to the skin, and then ‘supercharged’ using thermal energy to penetrate the skin faster and deeper. This process, as intense as it sounds is not uncomfortable at all. Finished off with a bit of a face massage, and you are good to go. My skin looked more refined, my dehydration lines were less visible and my skin had a healthy glow.
These ‘supercharged’ treatments can replace your usual facials, and can be done every 4 to 6 weeks, depending on your skin concerns.
I am extremely happy with the results of the facial, as well as the Sorbet Greenstone store and staff. The staff were polite and helpful and the treatment started exactly on time, which is always important to me. Tumi kept me informed every step of the way, and answered all of my questions. She was also very intuitive about when I was being chatty and when I was enjoying the relaxation. It was really a great experience, and I would highly recommend trying out this facial soon!
