Sensitive Scalp Relief for all budgets

Tuesday, 21 Nov 2017

A sensitive scalp is the worst! It not only leads to dryness and flaking, which just makes your hair look dirty, but it is also just so itchy and uncomfortable. And, as with all itches, the more you scratch, the itchier it becomes! And for me, the only way to relieve it, is to wash my hair, which I don’t like doing more than three times per week. So today I am sharing a few products for Sensitive Scalp Relief. These aren’t going to completely rid your hair of sensitivity or itchiness, but they do prolong the time before it becomes unbearable.

Sensitive Scalp Shampoo and Conditioner

First up we have the budget buy! The *Garnier Ultimate Blends The Delicate Soother Shampoo and Conditioner. I love the delicate scent of this, and it definitely soothes my scalp longer than other products.

Next we have most expensive duo, the Wella SP Balance Scalp Shampoo and Mask. This combo leaves my scalp feeling cleansed, and my hair soft and manageable. I apply the mask in the shower, after shampooing and removing the excess water from my hair, as I would a conditioner, except I apply it to the roots too. This duo provides scalp relief for a longer period of time, but given the price I would expect it to.

Sensitive Scalp Relief Shampoo

Lastly we have the heaven scented *Vichy Dercos Ultra Soothing Shampoo. There are two sulfate-free variants, one for dry hair and one for normal to oily hair. Not only does this shampoo smell AMAZING, it leaves my scalp soothed for longer than the other two mentioned above. Unfortunately there isn’t a conditioner in the range, but the shampoo is so hydrating that I just apply a hair oil onto my damp washed hair and I am good to go. Occasionally I use the *Vichy Dercos Nourishing & Reparative Rich Mask, which is a quick in-shower mask that is so moisturising, it leaves my hair feeling as if I have just had a professional treatment.

I still use Head and Shoulders for this reason there is nothing worse than an itchy scalp! But I love the look of the Vichy, they are such a good brand 🙂

They are, and I love that they are good quality, but still affordable in both their skincare and haircare.

I’m so glad to have found a post like this. So well timed for me, my scalp has suddenly became overly sensitive and itchy. Booked marked this for when I’m shopping so I can get some of the items you mention.

I have the most itchy sensitive scalp going – even reading this made me want to scratch! I feel gross but as my head was severely chemically burnt when i was younger I’m always looking for ways to soothe it. The SP Range sounds great – I love Oilatum sensitive scalp treatment shampoo!

    1. admin says:

I haven’t heard of Oilatum, will look into it. Oh no, that sounds so uncomfortable!
