New Skincare on Trial- February
Monday, 19 Feb 2018
It is time for another New Skincare on Trial post ladies, and this month the focus is on a few fairly new products from The Body Shop. I love skincare from The Body Shop, partly because they are affordable, but mostly because they are so innovative and effective.
The thing that drew me to the Vitamin E Moisture-Protect Emulsion is the SPF 30. Although I will always still use an additional sun protection since I am prone to pigmentation, I like some extra protection from my moisturiser. This has a fairly runny consistency, is lightweight and hydrating without being too rich.
The Vitamin E Aqua Boost Essence Lotion is used after cleansing before moisturising. I take a small amount in the palm of my hand and press it into my skin. My skin feels hydrated, and looks plump and supple thanks to the hydration boost. The two products together can be a bit rich for Summer, but will be perfect as the weather gets cooler and drier!
I was actually so impressed by The Chinese Ginseng & Rice *Clarifying Milk Toner. I am not a huge toner fan, and unless it is an acid, or something super hydrating or soothing, I just don’t see the point if you have double cleansed. Well, this toner proved me wrong, my skin looks instantly brighter after use and gives a slight tingle which I love.
This is the product I was most excited about! The Chinese Ginseng & Rice *Clarifying Polishing Powder Wash. The powder is mixed with water to form a paste and then used to lightly exfoliate the skin both physically and chemically. I like that if it is too scrubby you can add some more water for a less intense physical scrub. I like to use this a few times a week before applying a face mask. If you have had your eyes on the dermalogica Microfoliant, this is a good affordable option.
Another toner, but this time a hydrating one. The *British Rose Petal Soft Gel Toner is enriched with real rose petals and is such a luxurious treat to use! It soothes my skin, and leaves it feeling soft and supple, but it is not something I would really say I need in my routine.
Lastly, the *Japanese Matcha Tea Pollution Clearing Mask. Matcha has become one of those trendy ingredients recently, and although I haven’t jumped on the trend train, this has become one of my favourite masks. It is so cooling on the skin, gives a slight tingle when applied, and once removed my skin looks more refined and less dull. I actually couldn’t believe the results of this mask! I love the dense mousse texture too!
My must-haves from these products are the Japanese Matcha Tea Pollution Clearing Mask, the Chinese Ginseng & Rice *Clarifying Milk Toner and *Clarifying Polishing Powder Wash, and if you have dry skin the Vitamin E Moisture-Protect Emulsion.
Have you tried any of these products, or do you want to?
