MAC X Padma Lakshmi Collection Review and Swatches
Wednesday, 14 Mar 2018
As you may know by now, I love it when MAC launches their new Limited Edition Collections and I literally stalk the website until it goes live. I especially love when those collaborations are with strong and inspiring individuals and represent a diverse group of people. So, when I heard about the latest one, I could not wait to get my hands on it. Here are my thoughts on the MAC X Padma Lakshmi Collection, a perfect collection that suits all skin tones, but looks especially stunning on darker ones.
From the stunning gold packaging of the Blush Duo’s, to names like Mittai Pink, this collection is everything I expected it to be, and more!
This is quite a big collection, with 17 products, and something for everyone, whether you are a lip, eye, cheek or tools girl. Seeing as this is an Online Exclusive, I did a bit of research and then settled on three products. My weakness is cheek products, so I obviously picked up the two duos, and the lipsticks looked gorgeous, so I got myself one of those too.
Swatches from Top-Bottom:
MAC Padma Lakshmi Powder Blush Duo in Moon & Shine (top+bottom)- I would have described this more as a highlight/contour duo, as opposed to a blush duo. It has a perfectly matte cool toned bronzer, and a gorgeous almost metallic champagne gold highlighter. Both apply and blend well, and have a gorgeous buttery soft texture.
MAC Padma Lakshmi Powder Blush Duo in Melon Pink (top+bottom+blended)- I love using this duo swirled together. Both shades have a slight golden shimmer, but don’t emphasise my skin’s texture. The top shade is a medium coral, and the bottom is a shimmery peachy pink. Both shades are buttery soft, and only need a gentle sweep of a brush to pick up the product.
MAC Padma Lakshmi Lipstick in Nude Fudge- A warm medium-nude shade with a matte finish that leans toward a dark terracotta. It is really pigmented, non-drying and long lasting, and fully opaque in one swipe!
I absolutely adore this collection!
I love the packaging, the product range, and how diverse the shades are. I also love that the price is not obscene when compared to the international prices. You can check out this range here.
