Connie Transform Liquid Lipsticks
Thursday, 22 Jun 2017
A while ago I was asked if I wanted to review the Connie Transform Liquid Lipsticks, and to be honest I didn’t have very high expectations. When you have the likes of Kylie Cosmetics, Huda Beauty, Too Faced, Girlactik, Jeffree Star, NYX Professional Makeup, Palladio Beauty, Colourpop, Gerard Cosmetics and more to compete with, the bar has been set high and the market seems super saturated. Yet brands keep trying to come out with the next best long-lasting matte, but comfortable lip. So, how does this local, affordable option fare? Is it a hit or miss?
It is a big fat long-lasting matte HIT! And for R160 and a good shade range, I will be picking up a few more of these. They are so pigmented in one swipe and long-lasting, and they actually dry down to a full matte finish. I have tried quite a few products that claim to be matte, but never actually dry down. The best part is that they feel so light on the skin, as if I am wearing a lip tint, and not a full on matte lip. They also don’t flake or get crusty which is not a good look!
Let’s get on to some swatches shall we? From Top-Bottom:
*Babes: A wearable mauve
*Four Seasons: A stunning rose brown
*Hermes: A warm rusty orange
Unfortunately Hermes hadn’t dried down yet when I took this photo. But you can see Babes and Four Seasons are fully matte when dry.
The applicator is pretty narrow which allows for precise application, which is great, because these dry down fairly quickly, and we all know how hard it is to clean up a mess. Another thing about the applicator is it doesn’t pick up too much product, so you can’t overload your lips or waste product.
I am so impressed by this product range, as well as its affordability. And of course since it is local, you don’t need to worry about exorbitant shipping or custom fees.
