A Winter Pamper with Nuxe
Tuesday, 5 Jun 2018
As I mentioned in my last post, June marks the start of Winter in South Africa, although to be honest I have been freezing for the past few weeks! I have a very low cold tolerance, and to me anything under 20 degrees is Winter, and anything over 28 is too hot. Fussy much? The only thing I actually look forward to when the weather turns are relaxing nights in, and what better way to have a little bit of a Winter Pamper than with the ultimate luxury brand, Nuxe!
Starting with the rêve de miel *Face and Body Ultra-Rich Cleansing Gel which smells amazing, and makes shower time feel so luxurious. I used this on my body a few times, but I have now reserved it for my hands only, just so that it lasts longer! It is RICH as the name describes, and does not leave my skin feeling stripped or dry, which makes it perfect for winter.
One of the most important winter tips I can share, is to moisturise immediately after you step out of the shower, while your skin is still damp, to not only lock in the moisture, but also the scent. And believe me, you will want to lock in the scent of the *24HR Moisturising Body Lotion, enriched with Almond and Orange Flower Petals. I love that the scent lasts on my skin, but not too much that it interferes with my perfume, but just enough that I know it is there. The texture is quite light and milky, and leaves my skin with a silky satin feel. It isn’t hydrating enough for my hands in winter, but works a treat on my body.
Next up I have the rêve de miel Lip Balm, a cult product that I had heard so much about, and had to buy and see what the hype was about. The texture is unlike any other lip balm I have tried, it is a creamy buttery paste, that reminds me a bit of hardened creamy honey. The balm hardens when cold, but melts into the skin when applied. It is quite thick, and so I prefer to use it at night, and wake up to supple, hydrated lips the next morning. This is definitely a winter must-have for me!
I bought the Nuxe Prodigieux le parfum and Bougie Prodigieuse a while back, and wow they smell amazing! The fragrance of both the perfume and the candle encapsulate and enhance the fragrance of the famous Dry Oil. Containing notes of magnolia, orange flowers and vanilla, this is a sophisticated, floral, but cosy scent, and when I catch a whiff it immediately lifts my mood. The perfume isn’t very intense, and can be used day or night for an instant mood lift and a feeling of french luxury. The scent of the candle fills the room, it doesn’t tunnel or smoke and leaves me feeling all bougie when I have this lit in my room.
