A Purple Beauty Edit
Wednesday, 2 May 2018
Today I thought I would put together A Purple Beauty Edit, since the Pantone Colour of the Year 2018 is Ultra Violet. Purple is such a regal colour to me, and at one point when I was a kid my room was purple. But, I don’t think you came here to read about what a colour means to me, or the colour of my room, so let’s just get into it, shall we?
Let’s start with home and body!
This three-wick Baylis & Harding Wild Blackberry & Apple Candle really impressed me, it burns evenly without tunneling, fills the room with a cosy scent, and looks high-end too, and the best part is that it is actually affordable! There are quite a few other scents too, and I can’t wait to try them all.
Moving on to a scent that is so unique, that I can pick it up when someone is wearing it, Alien by Mugler. The *Alien Beautifying Body Cream compliments the fragrance perfectly, and leaves my skin soft and silky with a lingering scent. It has the exact same scent as the perfume, and when layered it will leave a subtle whiff of Alien wherever you go.
Onto skincare, the *SIX Age Reverse Cream comes in a gorgeous round bottle. The moisturiser itself is quite rich and is best for dry or ageing skin. It is enriched with Retinol, Vitamin C and Rose Hip Oil which are all skincare heavyweights, as well as Artichoke Leaf Peptide. It is soothing and hydrating, and doesn’t irritate my skin at all.
And now for makeup!
I have already mentioned the amazing Physician’s Formula Youthful Wear Spotless Foundation in my March Favourites, that is how impressed I am. It is so lightweight, while still offering coverage, and it DOES NOT SETTLE into my lines, which is something quite a few dropper foundations unfortunately do. It has a silky satin finish, with medium but buildable coverage, and I have been reaching for it quite often.
Next up I have one for eyes and one for nails. The Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Voodoo is a warm purple with a sparkle finish for when you need to draw some extra attention to your eyes. I absolutely love the formula of these liners, they are smooth and don’t tug at my skin, but they also last all day! For nails I have Dress Call, a perfect Spring shade, from my favourite polish range, essie Gel Couture. It is a stunning pastel purple, that is fully opaque in two coats and lasts about a week. You can check it out on my nails here.
Lastly, a palette of dreams, ten tarte Amazonian Clay Blush shades. I love the tarte Amazonian Blush formula, they are pigmented and silky, but easy to blend and long lasting. They also don’t get patchy, and come in such a wide variety of shades. This palette has some neutral shades, some bright shades, as well as some highlighting shades, although I find myself drawn to the more neutral blush shades.
